No brainer? I'm going Hank Thomas!

Bennington had 29 and 8 today. Thomas had 30 and 4. But also had a 5-2 assist advantage over Bennington and one more steal. He also had 3 more three-pointers (6 to 3).

Bennington put up better numbers against Knox, 24 and 7 compared to Thomas' 17 and 1, but Thomas also had 7 assists to Bennington's 2 and 3 steals to Bennington's 1.

Thomas also had better overall numbers against Grinnell.

I gave it a second look... I still go with Bennington... the total positives are slightly in his favor, and the 3 for 15 from 3's  vs Grinnell for Thomas should rule him out...

Super win for Blackburn last night... over Elmhurst... and Elmhurst coming off a win over Benedictine, the No 3  team in the NACC..

The one two punch of Hayes and King goes for 23 and 18, also nice production from the bench 25 points...

Fontbonne, Westminster both beaten badly... disappointing
For Westmin, horrible offensive performance, so much more is expected... Tabb held up his end, nobody else...
For Fontbonne, where is Coddington...my expectations tumble if he isn't playing....

A Happy Thanksgiving to everyone... looking forward too the Webster Tourney this weekend....  expectations likely too high, but sure would love to see Westmin and Webster give Ozarks and IWU a battle.....

It's not often that you see a team shoot 0-11 from three or that you see two teams combine to shoot 1-32. Wow!

Just looked at the box score. I was at the game and did not realize that had happened. Didn't seem like that many 3s were taken. I knew few were made, but would have guessed more like 5 or 6 taken by each team. It did not appear that either team was running an offense aimed at setting up 3 point shots. Seemed like Webster passed up several open looks. Anyway, a win for Webster in a fun game to watch.

Hey, I apologize, I did not mean to suggest that it was a poor game.  The performance by Webster was not worse than say the 4-18 performance from last week by a certain team I follow.  Just unusual to see the combined one made three pointer statistic.  At least in my experience.

Don't apologize.  It was a pretty ugly game. My hope is that some of it was attributable to Webster defense. Ozarks had scored 90 in each of their previous 2 games.
Today vs Illinois Wesleyan, I fear there will be a significant difference in the inside game.

I was pretty impressed with Greenville taking down Olivet. Good win by Webster. I thought Westminster (picked 2nd in the SLIAC) would put up a better fight against IWU.

I am not predicting an upset by any means, but having watched Webster play UMSL and Washington University, I do think they may frustrate the Titans more than WUSTL or Westminster ever could have at this point in the season...

WUPHF

Well, Webster becomes the second of two teams to hold IWU under 80 points through the first six games so there is that.

Super Congrats to Iowa Wesleyan... I thought they had a chance to get their first win today when they played Knox....

INSTEAD... they went out yesterday and beat Monmouth, 84-81.... that's a heck of a win for the proposed SLIAC cellar dweller, and serves notice to the entire league that a win over IWU shouldn't be looked at as a gimme...
Austin Rebel, a bulky lefty from down under leads the win with 27 points and 14 boards, and Avree Clark a mighty might at 5'7", added 24.

note... Monmouth has already beaten Eureka and MacMurray this year...

WOW... absolutely fantastic reading... article in SLIAC.org on Principia grad Adaku Anumu and his efforts leading to a spot on a professional team in Portugal

Greek Tragedy

After an impressive win over a good Olivet team expected to contend for the MIAA title, Greenville loses to Redlands. I really thought they'd go 1-1, but the results were opposite. 2-0 would've been outstanding. On a side note, Dix finally had a good game.

Austin Rebel makes it easy for me... his huge game in IWU's win over Monmouth earn him Hopefan's SLIAC Player of the week.   He goes for 28 and 14.  Note IWU-Knox has been postponed.
