These are great write-ups.

Looking forward to whatever is next on the agenda.

I was going to ask hopefan for a summary of his ten write ups about the past five conference seasons, then thought he'd done enough work. So I've done one. But if hopefan wants to add or correct anything, that would be great.

10. Iowa Wesleyan -- 40-49 all under Huisman -- 10-26 the past two seasons
9. Fontbonne -- 31-59 -- 20-52 the past four seasons under Thornhill; 11-7 five ssasons ago under Hall
8. MacMurray -- 42-48 all under Creal
7. Principia -- 30-60 -- 25-29 the past theee seasons under Zimmerman; 5-31 previous two seasons under Bushong.
6. Spalding -- 45-45 all under Gray.
5. Blackburn -- 43-57 -- 38-34 past four seasons under Kollar; 5-13 five seasons ago under Baribeau
4. Westminster -- 46-44 all under Mitchell
3. Euteka -- 49- 41 all under Wilde
2. Webster -- 59-31 all under Bunch
1. Greenville -- 64-26 all under Barber; 54-18 the past four seasons since going to The System

Sad news:

"The SLIAC would like to pass along its condolences as former commissioner Rich Meckfessel passes away. Meckfessel, 2011 SLIAC Hall of Famer, oversaw addition of FAR role to governing body ,Post Graduate Scholarship & brought back conference tournaments."

*******************

"Rich Meckfessel, former Commissioner of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference passed away on Wednesday due to complications from a recent surgery. Meckfessel served as SLIAC Commissioner from 2000-07 and his tenure is the longest in conference history at the commissioner position. Meckfessel was just the second commissioner in league history and helped oversee the expansion of the league to 10 members when Eureka College and Lincoln Christian College joined in 2006.

"He also headed up the addition of the Faculty Athletics Representatives position to the SLIAC primary governing body. Meckfessel also created the SLIAC Operating Manual and established the SLIAC Post-Graduate Scholarship, which was unique in Division III at the time (2002-03). Meckfessel also oversaw the reinstitution of Conference Tournaments in team sports in 2004-05. Meckfessel represented the SLIAC and the Central Region on the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Committee and was a respected member of the Division III Commissioner's Association. He was inducted into the SLIAC Hall of Fame in 2011."

It was Always a pleasure to chat with Rich Meckfessel.... I can particularly remember how disappointed we both were (and I still yearn for the old days) when Maryville left the SLIAC and D3 for the move to D2... Such a shame to lose that St. Louis nucleus with Fontbonne and Webster....

Interesting SLIAC-ARC Classic is scheduled.... Fontbonne and Westminster travelling to Buena Vista to play Buena Vista and Simpson on Nov 15, 16....

Coaches Thornhill and Mitchell probably set this up so they could hit the links on that Saturday Morning... though it could be a tad chilly ;D ;D

Westminster lost at home to both BV (by 7) and Simpson (by 6) last season. FU didn't play either. This is a good scheduling move for Fontbonne.

Unless Westmin new faces do the job right away, Fontbonne should be the better team of the two... any SLIAC win on this trip would be a VERY good one for the conference......

GU1999

Posted is the commitment list for GU.  Tons of 6' - 6'3" kids from all over the country.   This is a 20 man class.  Dr. Barber often says that when running the system, you need to "double everything".  I think this is clearly a doubling of the size of an incomming class.  This was needed, especially with only a 4 man class last year.

I'm hoping one or two of them will turn out to have a career like this 2019 grad.  fingers crossed.

Greenville is running a JV squad now, too, right?  They probably need 20 every year.

A lot of kids... has to have many of the other SLIAC coaches drooling, if for nothing else, just the amount of kids coming in.. and as has been the usual, looking very athletic... jc kids with experience, a number of the HS kids out of big schools...  GC really has it going... under most circumstances, I'd complain about over recruiting, too many kids never getting a chance.. but with the system, heck, likely 75% of these guys will get a legit chance to prove they should see varsity action...And Ryan, yes, GC has been playing JV games regularly....

An interesting scheduling tidbit... Westminster and Eureka both on Grinnell's schedule....perhaps preconference prep for Greenville??

It doesn't matter whether the System continues to be successful on the court or not, the admissions department is never going to let them get rid of it.
