Greenville falls 137-131. They had a decent lead and also had their chances late in the game to regain and hold that lead.

I just wondered: What's the difference between calling a flop vs a block on the offending player?

Rules committee is trying to get the "head bob" and "fall down every time you take a three" out of the game.  It appears we're just in the OVER officiating phase of the rule enforcement and catching a bunch of other deeply trained tendencies in block/charge situations.

If the league counts class B techs toward the 14 limit, it will be a for reasons other  than those intended in the sportsmanship guideline.  GU now has 4 Ts.   3 flopping Ts and one rim hang.  The commentators went out of their way to discuss GU's good sportsmanship during the game.  Interestingly the B tech's don't appear in the box scores, with the exception of the GU v. Centre game.  [subsequent to writing this the B techs were added to the box score].

Does anyone know if Fontbonne held their half time lead over NPU?

GU1999

Just posted.  Fontbonne hangs on to win 75-73.

That makes sense, I guess, based on a blocking call against Hanover. I didn't notice the head bob.

Boxscore for Wabash's win over Greenville.

Greenville has some shooters on their team, it's too bad that there are some guys that just shouldn't be shooting the ball. There were definitely some ugly shots.

Davidson is smooth for sure. Hallstrom probably could have had 50 had he not sat with two fouls at the 11 minute mark for the rest of the half. He was the homerun ball receiver.

Strange how Greenville played a full court trapping press and then switched to a trap when the ball was being inbounded. Once it got inbounded, then it was basically 1 v 1 with just one guy pressing the ball-handler.

Fun to watch, reminded me of the old Grinnell games.

I was at the game and did not realize until checking the box score -- Webster up 67-58 doesn't score in the final 5:27 and loses 72-67 to Manchester. Josh Johnson was on fire in the first half with 23 points. Manchester didn't seem ready to play early in the game, but got over that problem. Their defense seemed to get tougher and tougher. For the most part a good game. Some wild turnover sequences -- like watching a pinball machine. A lot of effort on the court by both teams. Would be nice if Webster had more scoring options. Johnson, Tankins and Ettiene are carrying the load. Hopp should probably shoot more.

The league goes 1 - 3 last night in very surprising fashion.  Great win for FU!  All SLIAC over CCIW winners are to be celebrated.  If FU takes care of business today against Lincoln Christian they'll have a 🏆.  Very cool.

Likewise in stunning fashion, Webster loses at home. Webster was in control, up until the point in the first half where there was a flagrant foul against WU.  Ultimately Manchester took the lead in the last few minutes after after going on a prolonged 14 run to end it.  Wow.

The Westminster game went as predicted.  Hanover was just too much.

GU looked quite good last night.  The game was rather winnable despite playing a top 20 caliber Wabash outfit, with a pre-season AA.

The "likely outcome" was 1-3, and we ended up there, but in typical SLIAC form the way we did was a bit of a surprise.

^^^ Just goes to show the value of predictions.

Halftime -- Westminster 52, Manchester 44. An 8 point lead is what Webster had at the half vs Manchester last night. Somehow I have a feeling that Westminster will be able to keep scoring, unlike Webster. They have several shooters, Webster only has Johnson. The Blue Jays, both last night and today have been playing a sophomore heavy lineup. I think they will be okay in SLIAC play.

Unlike last night, Manchester has tied it at 77 with 5:49 left.

Westmin pulls out the win over Manchester... will be very interesting to RE-forecast an order of finish prior to conference starting league games right after Thanksgiving....
