I was just informed by a SLIAC insider that the SLIAC tourney may become an 8 team tourney this year.... in that case the critical nature of Saturday's games is diminished, but of course every win is meaningful as far as seeding.....
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

I am surprised the insider did not mention that the SLIAC already announced plans for an 8-team conference tournament last Spring.

They even have the tournament listed as an 8-team tournament online: https://www.sliac.org/sports/mbkb/2021-22/tournament

I'm not sure... did you let us know that previously?  My memory fails me....

Spalding starts the day off right by upsetting Blackburn  65-61... squeezing those standings a little...

Westminster even with Eureka at half

Webster getting kicked by Fontbonne in 1st half....

Font no trouble with Webster, Eureka wins at Westmin, Prin wins on last second shot(that's 3 times in last 4 games) over Greenville... Westmin falling behind badly, Webster hurting too... if things continue like this may be looking at dog fight between Prin and Spalding for fourth....

I called two recruits from the Fontbonne class of 2023 big time.  One quickly faded into obscurity and is no longer on the roster.  The other is Elijah Rice.

I have watched Fontbonne play a few times this season and I think Griffins fans have a lot of reasons to be optimistic.  The way they closed out the Eureka game for example.

Pre-Season Poll

Eureka
Blackburn
Webster
Greenville
Fontbonne
Westminster
Spalding
Principia

Current Standings

Fontbonne (6-1)
Eureka (6-2)
Blackburn (6-3
Principia (5-3)
Spalding (4-4)
Webster (3-5)
Westminster (2-7)
Greenville (1-8)

The Webster women look unstoppable at 16-0, 7-0, and No. 45 in Massey, but with their toughest games left on the road.

Hmmmm... Last night, Greenville leads Webster by 12 as the clock winds to 0:00.... Greenville has the ball, Webster and Coach Bunch has "submitted" and the Webster players on the court are beginning to walk to their bench....

And.. A Greenville player goes to the hoop to dunk at 0:01... with lively celebration from all after

I'm not so sure that this is what is expected of a basketball team representing a Christian College....  the term disrespect comes to mind

Looks like the coaching staff has a whole lot more TEACHING to do...

Disgusted???.... you bet.... remember, one bad apple paints a picture of the whole program....

The late game dunk was not classy.  I cringed when I saw it.  That said, it was not the most interesting thing from that game.
That said, I am not surprised that this was your main take away as you do present as someone who is triggered easily.

I am all for good sportsmanship and privately conveyed some issues I had with the Webster/Westminster game.

But, I do think we should give the players some latitude to make mistakes.

It has been a crazy couple of years.

Greenville had to be be feeling it, going 1-whatever prior to this game and finally getting a conference win.

Was this necessary?

Greenville (and Greenville fans) had to be be feeling it, going 1-whatever prior to this game and finally getting a conference win.  LOL

By the way, I am certainly not mocking Greenville here, but instead pointing out that they deserve some slack after struggling through a tough year.
