I don't know, I think FU is shooting around 50% from the field the last couple of games.  Should be a dandy!

fcnews

My only predicyion is: It will be a war. They always are.
Things to look for-
1.) I pray for a well called game by the refs. Let the kids decide the out come.

2.) Will Hoggatt and Fogerty cancel each other out in the post?

3.) Can FU keep Spinner from taking over?

4.) How will WU's experience come into play?

5.) Who will be the third guy scoring for WU?

6.) Which team will have the most intensity?

7.) Who controls the tempo? FU will want the games in the 80's.

8.) Which team will adjust to the offensive mismatch? And exploit it.

9.) Which team is in better shape?

BeaverSID - Let's see hmmm, FU beats BC by 20, BC beats WU by 1, and you have no doubt in WU's chances. Please explain.

Webster does have the experience on their side. However, Fontbonne is an uptempo team who took some tough losses early in the season and it looks like they have learned from it.  My prediction is Fontbonne wins at home, 78-69.  Just my guess!

First, I never said that Webster is undoubtedly going to win. Thats just my prediction. Almost any team can win on any given night.

Second, BC played a horrid game again FU. While at the same time FU didn't show me much at that game.

Third, BC played a great game at Webster, while they still needed Webster to have bad game to only win by 1.

These are the reasons for my prediction. Nothing personal, nothing meant by it. Its just my prediction, take it or leave.

I heard that FU did struggle a bit up in Blackburn.  The Beaver Dome isn't exactly the easiest place to play.  I just wish tomorrow would hurry up and get here!!

FU_Pride - The Beaver dome is a tough place to play at but keep in mind that all the students were on break when they played eachother thus leaving a remotely empty dome.
Go Beavers!

My last comment on the subject. Beaver_SID your qupte was "While at the same time FU didn't show much at that game".

Just to clarify. Are we talking about the game that White dropped 20 in the first half and FU led 48-33. The same game that saw FU hit 11 3's and shot 59% from the feild. That game where Fogerty went for 22 (9-12 fg) and FU had three players with 8 rebounds or more to out rebound BC 41-29. The same game that FU held the POY from BC to 4 pts. in 36 minutes. The same game that FU played without Parker for the first time and still hung up 97.

I'm sorry we didn't show you to much.

Welcome FU_Pride.....  now, i can't be called just "Pride" now.  Thanks FU_Pride. :)  Only kidding!

Good luck to everyone playing on Thursday.  Greenville has the night off and much needed after playing four games in seven days.

I would like to give a couple shoutouts...  Antonio Conquest, who won the SLIAC player of the week for this past week's performance also won the NCCAA National player of the week.  Antonio has really grown into a great player this season.  He is also going to be a great player of the future for us.

good point fc news......this is just my opinion, but i think FU is looking better without Parker right now.  Things seem a little more fluid right now.  Not to take away from Parker, he is probably the quikest guard in the conference, with a few others from around the league.  FU seems to be clicking right now.  Let's just hope that we can keep it going!!!

FU_Pride - You are very true. FU has had really good chemistry recently. These kids are all winners. They have started to figure out that to win means finding the best match ups. They went to White at BC, MC it was Branch early and Fogerty late, and last night they just rode Fogerty home. And, for Hopefan's sake, last night McCoy had 10 assists and only 2 to's.

But, that said, Parker is the BEST athlete in the conference and will be a heck of a player before he's done. Remember these are freshmen and sophmores who are all learning to keep ego's out of it and just WIN.

FU did have nice stats when all was said and done. Then again those came on a team that was currently on a 7 game losing streak, where both of their supposed to be leaders and forerunners had been ice cold for months. The same team that had absolutely no gameplan or veiwably intentional strategies to win the game. The same team that was tied with FU at 0-3 in SLIAC play. Not to take away from FU's play, the came in with something to prove and shot the other half of the beaver dome's lights out. But to be completely honest BC had been in the dark for weeks.

FC News, don't get me wrong, Parker is a heck of a player.  I worded my previous statement wrong.  What I was meaning to say is that Fontbonne seems to have geled well after he went out.  Maybe everyone realized that they were each going to have to pick up the slack together, and that is what their recent play has shown, going 3-0.  Beaver_SID, do not think in anyway that I am bashing on Blackburn, it is just that I am excited for this is the best Fontbonne has played over the last couple of years.

Some comments on the Mac/EC game...

I've talked to several people here about Mac and we have widely varying opinions on how talented Mac is. One thing that everyone has agreed on, however, is how well Mac plays as a team. Not everyone agrees with me, but I thought Mac was the best team I've seen Eureka play this season (keep in mind I have not seen Westminster, Greenville or Westminster). It boggles my mind that Mac could blow a 20+ point lead like they did against Greenville. We should credit the Panthers for an amazing comeback on a solid team more than anything else.

Hopefully Compton won't miss any time. He didn't play in the 2nd half, but I didn't even notice that he had been hurt until I saw him hopping into the lockeroom at halftime.

I made the prediction to Coach Bruer as we were walking out of the gym at Fontbonne in December that we would be the last visiting team to walk out of that gym a with a win this season. So far, that's held true. They have some tough ones left though, starting Thursday.

eureka_sid: Thanks for the nice compliment. Coach Hettinga has done a tremendous job with MacMurray, given their small numbers and very young team. In terms of the loss at Greenville, as well as Fontbonne, the Highlanders played both of those games with Greene and Robertson spending a lot of time on the bench in foul trouble. Neither played the last four minutes against the Panthers, which is when they made their charge. Had both been on the floor down the stretch, it might have been a different story. Maybe not - but we'll never know. Against Fontbonne, Greene missed most of the first half with three fouls, and then Robertson fouled out with the game on the line with 2-3 minutes left. Hard to beat the better teams in the conference, on the road, when your top two rebounders and defenders - not to mention their offense - are on the bench. Against Eureka, both pretty much stayed out of foul trouble, and it made a big difference.

BIG game for MacMurray tonight. Must protect the home floor. It will be Mac's fourth game in seven days, and first one at home all season with our students on campus. Whalum and Coleman have been terrific all season out front, and will need more of the same tonight. With Compton hurting, Schmidt, Long, Hipshir, and Huff will need to step up. They can do it. Hopefully we'll have a nice crowd. Good luck to everyone!
