WC wins over BC 68-65, pretty sure on the score, know it was by 3.  Back and forth all game, questionable no call on a three pointer by BC with .8 left, maybe should have been a foul, but it would have been a tough call to make.  Hammond put on a show in the first half, Kurz and Davis kept WC in it.  34-28 BC at half.  Second half WC jumped up 39-38 and it was back and forth from there.  With the 50-49 lead BC went on a nine to nothing run before westmo could counter and tie it at 58 with four and a half to go.  From here WC held the slight advantage the rest of the way and made some free throws to win it.  Great game!  WHERE ARE THE GC EC updates?

that really hurts the jays chances.  tough blow.   need a big win out of maryville over FU or some other huge upset...

Websters site showing a W over Principia: 78-61.

Congrats fellas.

Principia got out to a 7-0 lead over Webster. Bunch called time out and gave the team a dose of his special caffeine. The teams then traded baskets before Webster slowly took over the lead. Principia played and shot well the first half and it was 36-32 Webster at halftime. Webster controlled the second half pretty easily and had a 21 point lead at least once. Principia double and triple teamed Hoggat, who finished with 15 points. Four other Gorloks scored in double figures.

 :'( :(

Boys, I'm pretty depressed here.  When I got the phone call, I was driving down I-70 out side Terre Haute.  I was super strugglin' the rest of the way home.  By reading hopefan's accounts of the game, looks like Greenville should have won.  It all comes down to stinking free throws.  My goodness.

Same thing happened in the Pana/Hillsboro girls game a few weeks ago.  Pana could clinch the game with 2 FTs and they miss both and go into OT and lose.

Ugh.  Very depressing end to a rollercoaster of a season.  Still going to make Tuesday the best night we can.  Sorry we couldnt have made Tuesday's game a thriller...  :'(

It was Parents day on the Fontbonne Campus. It will show in the box score. Fogerty 25, McCoy 15, Porter 13, Storandt 10, Branch 10, Fournie played 34 minutes 3 pts. 6 assists and held Everette scoreless. 10 players scored for FU, including Lovette who played 18 mins. 6 pts 11 rebounds 4 blocks and a break away dunk that he left about a foot inside the free throw line and only one turnover. Griffin's shot 8-18 from behind the arc and 14-18 from the line. FU had 8 team blks. Storandt had 3 to go with T. Love's 4.

Listened to the OT of the GC game. I bet Panther is not a happy camper.

Hey Bunchtime did you get out of Gallagher Iba Arena safely. Considering Mizzou won ?

Mac Attack

Well, that was interesting. 82-79 <ac<urray in overtime. Mac started its five seniors and they played the first four minutess of the game and did a nice job. Robertson in street clothes again. Highlanders sprint to a 30-13 lead and then the wheels fall off. Poor execution on offense, lots of one-on-one stuff we haven't seen in a long time, defense is standing around, few rebounds, and Maryville climbs right back into it. Mac led by about 5-6 at the break. Maryville comes out in the second half, grabs the lead, and takes it right down to the wire. Saints led by 4-5 a couple of times late, but Mac made a couple of stops, hit some shots when they really had to have them, and Maryville didn't capitalize on some Mac turnovers. Compton and Greene spent a lot of time on the bench with fouls. Greene plays the last 10 minutes of regulation and all five minutes of OT with four fouls. Nic Schmidt hit some bigs shots for Mac off the bench, and man did we hit free throws when it really counted. Saints could have/should have won this game, but couldn't score when they really needed to. MacMurray didn't shoot well at all, didn't run its offense worth a darn, got outrebounded 2-1, played with its best player not dressed out, and two others miss about half the game with foul issues - and still win. Guess that's what championship teams do - get it done when things aren't going well. Mac finishes as SLIAC co-champions and assured of its best record in 15 years. For a team that was picked by the coaches in the pre-season to finish 7th, I think everyone would agree this has been a magical season for the Highlanders. Regardless of what happens next week-end in St. Louis, hats off to Coach Hettinga, Coach Farmer, and the MacMurray Highlanders. Job well done, indeed.

And a special salute to MacMurray's five seniors, who played their last home game today. Seth Whalum, Nic Hipshir, Dawson Huff, Jimmy Michels, and Adonis Fuller (who hit a big 3pt shot to start the game) are all outstanding young men who will do very, very well wherever life takes them. They are great teammates, hard-nosed basketball players, and perfect gentlemen. They will be missed - but their contributions to the MacMurray basketball program and the 2006-2007 championship season will leave an imprint that will last a lifetime.

FC...Made it out and back in one piece!  Mizzou kept the tourney hope alive....Finally obtained a resume win!

So, if FU beats Fontbonne are you guys in?  And I guess Greenville is done?  Does that now make it 3 teams fighting for 2 spots -- those teams being Eureka, FU, and West.?
