Just thinking about the SLIAC Team awards, how can you not have Simmons on there.  Greenville probably will get 1 or 2.  Conquest and Simmons have to be in the mix with Ellis stairing down an honorable mention or newcomer of the year.

Your right pride. I'd have to say Simmons needs to be on their. I have Ellis on HM but don't know where Simmons goes. Also, Compton, Greene, Storandt, McCoy, Allen and Steinke.

Mac Attack- You only get five on the HM list. If White is second and Coleman HM, then I think it would be hard to have Co - NOY

Mac Attack

Thanks, FC. I made the edit. Tough choices. Lots of solid players. As folks on this board know, I'll always go with the players who can do the most things well at both ends of the floor. Was it this tough last year to choose 15 players? And oh by the way, there's a bunch of teams that should be loaded for 2007-2008 - Fontbonne, Webster, MacMurray, Greenville, Maryville, and Westminster all have just about everyone back. Blackburn and Eureka will get hit the hardest.

Who is the #3 and #4 seed if FU, EC and WC win?

fcnews

SLIAC Tourney Trivia Stats:
The last time the #1 seed won the SLIAC Tournament Championship was 1994.

Ok I have a thought for educated discussion on the postseason rankings.  Hopefully someone who knows for sure can tell me if this information I received is correct...it did come from the SLIAC website rulebook.  Assuming EC, FU and WC all end up tied this is something I hope someone can look into and answer for sure.  In reading the post season tournament rules I think this is how it works for multiple teams tied for third (11.4.1.2):  since head to head is 2-0 and 0-2 all the way around, Fontbonne would get the 3 spot as their margin against the other two teams is +26, Eureka is -9 and Westminster is -17.  Since article 11.4.1.2 is silent about the placement order after the filled spot, I think you take the remaining teams and begin the process again.  That leaves Eureka and Westminster tied for 4th.  Article 11.4.1.3 applies for two way ties for fourth. Rule 1) is head to head and Westminster has the edge over Eureka 2-0.  Therefore if all three teams end up tied FU should end up third and then based on the tie for fourth WC should have win the tiebreaker over Eureka.

Mac Attack

If Westminster beats Greenville, Eureka wins, and Fontbonne gets by Maryville, Eureka is #3 and Fontbonne #4. Westminster is knocked out on point differential. I interpret Rule 11.4.1.2 as the formula to determine placement for all three teams, not just one. But Godfather raises a very interesting point, as the rule doesn't specify this. It's open for interpretation, which one would assume the SLIAC commissioner would clarify. Hmmmm....

No telling what's gong to happen in Greenville tonight. We do know that Westminster can still get in - IF Maryville pulls the upset. Greenville, by virtue of its loss to Eureka, can't advance. So Westminster certainly has quite a bit to play for, while Greenville will be having Senior Night and defending its home court. What a finish!

PantherPride - what's the audio link for the Greenville game tonight?

fcnews

Two replies, two interpretations. Maybe we need a post from the Commish.

I think I'm wrong about the seeds, if Westminster, Eureka, and Fontbonne all win. They all finish 12-6 and are all 2-0 & 0-2 against each other - so it would go to point differential, and I think Godfather is correct. Fontbonne would be #3, Eureka would be #4, and Westminster would be #5. I have no idea why I had Eureka ahead of Fontbonne in that scenario.

Help us out, hopefan.... You agreed with me earlier - now it looks like we were both wrong? How could that happen.....

Thanks, PantherPride. Get those Panthers fired up!!!

Mac, I didn't have my "stuff" with me in Michigan, so I probably got confused if I had something wrong  -  see below as I see it now.

In a past conversation, I asked the commish if in a 3 way tie for third, if third was established by a tiebreaker, would there then be a playoff for 4th. He said no, indicating the original tiebreaker would also establish who was 4th.  So I'm inclined to agree with Mac, that the point differential would establish all 3 spots.

Panther, I may be calling more than usual to keep up with the Greenville Westmin game
Eureka SID, Mac, I'll let you know what's going on

Just to summarize, as I see it   assuming Eureka beats Prin, and knowing Webster is 1 and Mac is 2

If Greenville beats Westmin, and Font beats Maryville, Eureka is 3 and Font is 4 by virtue of Eureka sweeping Font

If Westmin beats Greenville and Font beats Maryville, Eureka , Font and Westmin tied with 6 losses, from earlier discussions, point differential places Font 3 and Eureka 4, assuming the point differential is used the whole way down 3-4-5

If Greenville beats Westmin and Font loses to Maryville. Eureka is 3, and Font, Greenville and Westminster are tied for 4th, but Fot holds a 3-1 record vs the other 2, Gville 2-2, Westmin 1-3, Font gets 4th

If Westmin beats Greenville and Font loses to Maryville, Westmin and Eureka finish with 6 losses, Westmin gets 3rd and Eureka 4 as Westmin swept Eureka.
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Glad we got that cleared up.

I'll be listening to the GC-WC game. Updates from the FU-MU game would be appreciated.

I've got Prides #. So the circle should be complete.

MacAttack - I won't be able to post. But, if you private message me your #, I will definately call. Hopefan may already have it. I'm sure Hopefan will sporting the Red tonite for his beloved MU. If he wears red I will refuse to speak with him. LOL
Godfather I know WC wants in also. But, I would really Like to see this years version get a chance at redeeming themselves for some bad games against the other three. Plus I don't want to be left out of all the fun.
