Come to think of it, what is the entry situation for the Men's semis?  There's no danger of a sellout is there?   One admission, or is there consideration of two (clearing the gym between games)?

GC Women will be commuting.  Many of our girls carry 3.2 or higher and they really don't like missing class.  With us being 50 miles away, it doesn't make sense to miss class on Friday.

This shows the class of Coach Barber.  He is taking the entire Men's Team to STL tonight to watch the women play Prin.  That is how close our two programs are.  Both teams are really close from the coaching staff down to the kids.  That may be the one thing I really enjoy about Greenville.  Both programs work hand in hand w/ each other.

Hopefan - I wanted to wait and get the word first hand. There will only be one admission to the semi's. Each school get's thirty passes and it's first come for all other admission. I understand the seating capacity is roughly 1000, the gym will be divided into four spaces to kind of allow fans to set together. And, it would not suprise me if you were say coming just for the 8pm game and got their 30 minutes early, you might not have a whole of choice on where you will sit.

FU fans and students are being told the earlier the better. The example used was, "If you had tickets to the Final Four. You don't miss either game." If WU is suggesting the samething to their fans, it could get crowded early.

That's why I've told some that are attending the Pre Game Bash that prices are good till 6:00. But, I won't be their at 6:00. I'll be nestled into a seat watching what I think will be a great MC v. EC game. You'll be watching possibly six All - SLIAC players in each of these games.

Hopefan - Are you and the Mrs. coming to McClain's for dinner before the games.

McClain's is located on Big Bend. It is 2 miles east of WU campus and is accross from Micky D's. Two story building built in the 20's right on the corner.

FC  -  Wife is not coming - she works very early Saturday morn, so will take it easy at home on Friday night - I think I may stick my head in at McLain's for a burger and a soda -  But like you, I want to get over to the first game bright and early

Guy's and Ladies reading this board. I'd like to ask a favor. I have personal project going. I am trying to come to a figure on what the econimical impact of this tournament is on the local economy.

1.) For EC and MC posters. I'd like to get a rough number on the amount of fans making a weekend or just overnight stay for this event.

2.) Post weekend. If anyone wishes to share with me by private message, what their weekend family expenditures came to I'd appreciate it. Huge.

3.) Please feel free to tell the folks at the local places (ie: Hotels, eateries, ect.) that your SLIAC Fan's. ( I'm working on some local area discounts for our fans. )

4.) If you are traveling into town. There are Cracker Barrels and Steak and Shakes everywhere. Please try our local flavors. STL is known as much for good food as it is for Baseball. STL is the birth place of Toasted Ravilio.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. The disclaimer is that I'm doing this on my own and am not affiliated with any institution on this study. Thanks All.

I asked Coach Bruer where we were staying. He just said "We're leaving at Noon, going down to play, if we win we'll stay, if we lose we're coming home." That's pretty much all I know at this point. I guess that's all I really need to know anyway.

FC, I'll try to take an inventory of our fans at the game and give you an idea of what they're planning on doing. ETA at Webster at around 3:30. I will make an attempt to make it to the pre-tourney party.

Maybe I was eating it at the wrong spot or perhaps it is an aquired taste, but I would avoid the "St. Louis style" pizza at all costs. I'm not sure whose idea it was to attach a great city like the Lou to a horrendous tasting pizza, but I would hope whomever it was  soon was run out of town.

EC - I'm sorry to hear that EC is not coming in for the weekend. Win or lose it's a great reward for a battle well fought and the players should stay and experience the Championship enviroment. Maybe, I have been tought differently but this is a great chance for personal life learning experiences. Shoot the event is being hosted right near historic Forrest Park. I beleive it is the largest metropolitan green space in the country. Home of both the 1904 World's Fair and Olympics. The only time the two were hosted togheter, Ever. Part of the Olympics was held at Wash U. track. Fontbonne University sits on World's Fair grounds donated to the Sisters after the fair. If nothing else you have the St' Louis Zoo. The largest free zoo in the world. A tour of the stadium and hall of fame. If nothing else the National Bowling Hall of Fame!!!

I've made that trip on a bus to EC and back. Not fun. I would of expected EC to check in some where early in the afternoon. Give the kids a chance to get comfortable, get a meal, get ready for their biggest game of the year. EC has quite a few seniors that deserve it. If you lose check out Saturday morning and find something to do. Then go to the Championship game. Let a possible All Tournament Player recieve his reward. And I beleive the All - Conference awards are also Saturday night.

I know that I am rattling on. But, this is why the kids are paying their own way to any given Univ. A chance to have a great season and be rewarded.

EC_SID - I'd be happy to offer you a shuttle to the party and back if transportation is a problem. Tell the fans coming in to stop by. Cheap dinner. A chance to kill sometime before we all head to games.

hopefan

FC, EC SID impresses me as a fine red blooded young man  -  perhaps we should take him out after the game to some of the Fine "Late Nite" entertainment spots the Metro has to offer.... ;D ;D ;)

Mac Attack

Great info on dining and drinks. McClain's sounds like a great place! You are so right. St. Louis has a wonderful "neighborhood" culture. Good people, good fun, real good Italian food. Doubt that we can make it there for pre-game festivities, although that sounds like a blast. MacMurray kids are staying, win or lose. Hats off to the AD for making the arrangements. The kids deserve this trip. Hope they can stay two nights! I would imagine MacMurray will bring a good crowd - mix of parents and students. Won't be anything like one of our home games, but enough to make some noise. Looking forward to it.

hopefan

someone should bring a camera and take a picture of the D3hoops SLIAC posters - probably could figure out how to include it in a post!!!!!
