Hopefan - not me! I don't even know how to give karma, positive or negative.

I think it's because that isn't information. It's just rhetoric. It's not information unless there's an actual fact presented.

I don't get why the time is right to post rhetoric about who we are supposed to believe they've hired but not time to post an actual name or any facts.

Well, Pat, I think that he did give some info, on one job that was filled and another that was about to be. Before he did that, we did not know when the jobs would be filled. Now we know that we are about to find out. That is an update. As Y_Jack said, he may not be at liberty to disclose names.

Here is my point. If someone has some info, and his intent is good on sharing it, why attack him? People will be reticent to post anything. A lot of what I read on here is rhetoric, and some of it goes on and on. Much of it is even pretty wild speculation in May or June about what is going to happen in October forward. Yet those posters don't seem to get attacked, except perhaps in fun.

I am new on this site, and I know several of the posters. I know that many of the posters know each other. As a newcomer, it is my impression that some just plain don't like Mac Attack. That may not be true, but it is how it comes across. It does not seem like fun-poking to me. Almost every time he talks, he is criticized. I fail to see the point of that.

I would guess that your role as administrator is enforcing whatever rules there, are, not allowing profanity, or whatever. I don't see why you want to criticize someone who means no harm, who is just passing on the info that he has.

Now you have some rhetoric from furbug.  :o

I like MacAttack!!!    I also like his wife!!!.   And their parents from Michigan!!!    And his son's girlfriend!!!!    Met em all at MacMurray games that I travelled from St Louis to watch because I liked their team!!! -  VERY nice people.
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Wow, you know it's baseball season when you see arguements about maybe's about might seen someone that new something>>>

Hopefan, Please don't tell me that the, new long awaited,  AD is not a basketball coach. At this level your AD needs be a Basketball or Football coach. That is the only way to attract the young up and coming coaching talents.

Trevor White is recovering nicely from his accident.

And from an earlier post by Hopefan, Parker could be the best in the conference. I don't think you can mention the conference's best, without clarifying it by saying, besides White or Hoggatt.

White at the two spot for awhile next year could cause enormous match up problems. I don't know who in the conference that can match up with him right now. Other then maybe Parker.

I don't want to hear this year that FU has no bench either. Any comments on next years pre-season poll. Will this conference ever have another season as exciting as last year.

What six teams with a shot going into the last week. Then have the youngest and the no. 4 seed when the conference tournament in the fashion they did. That's a hoopsters dream. I would have liked to been a spectator like Hope and Yjak.

Because he didn't actually share it. He shared that he had information. He didn't share the info itself.

If you want to brag that you know something and we don't -- ehh, I'm just not interested.

Pat,

Do you really think that Mac was bragging? Isn't that quite a stretch?

As I said I am relatively new to the site. I obviously did not understand your role as Site Administrator. It is quite a bit broader than I had envisioned. It seems to include evaluating the quality of comments, passing judgment on them, deciding who is merely bragging, whether or not the information interests you, and what is information and what is not. Now I know. What comes next - commenting on grammar and spelling? Censorship?

Holycow furburg.  Just because he is the site admin that means he can't put his two cents in.  My goodness golly.  I run a site and do the same as Pat.  Are you seriously going to sit here and bark at him for simply making an assessment of the situation.

I'm not going to pounce on anyone because I don't want furburg to get his feathers ruffled at me.  This looks like an in-season argument among the old posters!  I love it.

Good Old MacAttack is trying to get us to bite a little.  Trying to make it interesting with his post every once in a while.  :)

Well, I want to let my buddies know I have been offered and accepted an Athletic Administrator Intern position with the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash.  I start August 1st and will be there for two years!  It's going to be a huge career move for me.  We will see where it leads me.  I will not leave the board, however.  I will be sure to keep up-to-date with what is going on and will be the source for hot, late breaking GC Basketball action! :)  No worries about that.  And it's no foolin' here!

In the midst of all the hullabaloo going on today I forgot to wish Coach Bunch a wonderful wedding day and much happiness. And thanks to fcnews for mentioning it to begin with. I knew it was coming up, just didn't know when.

Also want to say congratulations to pantherpride on his two year internship at University of Puget Sound which I understand is an outstanding educational institution. We'll miss seeing you a few times during the season, but will hold you to your promise of remaining active on the SLIAC board. If we don't hear from you, I know people in Washington and they can find out where you live.

I've been running this message board for nine years. "What comes next" would have happened probably seven years ago if I had any interest in doing so.

That's such a ridiculous suggestion. Sheesh.

Since this is apparently news to some people: I did not give up my right to be a Division III fan when I took over this site in November 1997. It's not like this site pays the mortgage or is my real job. I enjoy Division III sports -- otherwise I wouldn't be putting thousands of hours a year in on this site. That's why I'm an active participant on the board. And with ... whatever that number is under my name, somewhere in the 17,000-post range, people should be able to figure out that I'm an active participant.

Amongst the angst there is a ray of sunshine  - Panther, most sincere congrats on the position at Puget - take that same enthusiasm that you showed us at Greenville and apply it at Puget - and I know you will be a success!!!  and such an exciting league to be in!!

Washington - Heck. I've never been west of Kansas City  (cept for those couple times in vegas!!)

I am guessing he'll be logging some serious hours. Get it, logging? Ha!

And we won't be getting score reports from Greenville anymore, I'm willing to bet.

Pat, the post after your last post on this board will be #17,400 . If  you've been running this site since 1997 then that's an average of around 4.77 posts per day for more than 3,650 consecutive days. I don't think the Energizer Bunny could keep going, and going, and going that long.

Pat Coleman

Luckily, the board didn't open until 1998.
