Panther   -  glad you finally stepped in and got the Puget Sound hoops schedule posted the other day  -  way to get those guys crackin'!!!!

In your absence, we're getting no one writing here regarding Greenville activity!   Woody got the room swirling with the Mac rumors, and Mac Attack's lack of a rebuttal implies Woody may be on the mark  -  but overall the room has been TOO quiet!

Hope all is well out in the great Northwest - keep us informed and we'll let you hear all the SLIAC info here - and likely only here!!!!
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

This has not been a site used to make personal attacks on individual players. Woody you crossed that line and really are attacking the wrong kid. Justin is a great kid and has no malice towards anyone. If you liked watching him last year, just wait till this year. About 20 lbs. heavier, stronger and alot of work with Coach Thomas has helped his scoring. And, for a kid with no talent, he was recruited heavily by D2 schools.  Plus those slow kids from EC ie. Tarpley and crew put it to Mac when it really counted. Best athlete in the SLIAC ?

FU is putting the final touchs on a game hosting Wheaton in 08-09.

This is going to be a fun season.......First off Panther Pride.....Woody Paige is who I am and I am an avid fan of the SLIAC I just never get a chance to speak about it on PTI, second of all I sometime dont make sense my co-workers will tell you that first.  I also have been the most logical poster on this board and all of my observations are correct.  I recall PAntherPride running around like A fool wat the end of the MAC greenville game at greenville...Now that is real mature for a mid to late 20 year old SID running around the gym, I dont recall any other SID doing such a thing in my life???  My knowledge of other schools may not be as great as hopefan but from what Ive seen against MAC has been dead on.  I bring the energy and inside information to this chatroom and that is it.  Eureka SID your two bigs were dominated by Storandt???  That is unbelievable, he does do his job by rebounding and being a bruiser....other than that offensively he is limited.  Yes Tarpley killed MAC when it counted, but as I stated previously Robertson was like maybe 70 % healthy and Tarpley had his day in the sun and proved he was worthy of league MVP.  Richards is a high energy slow footed player that really didnt kill MAC in any of the three games they played.  I give respect where respect is due.  The nicknames of the SLIAC schools are not any of my interest, I meant FU that would be the griffins, and gorlock was a corealtion to what i feel storandt plays like.  There was no personal attack on the player I was attacking his game and the way he plays if you were truly at that game then you would have seen him take cheap shots at MAC players.  I dont know storandt or any SLIAC player personally like you all talk like you do so attack them individual or attacking their character is not my style...I am just telling it like it is, and how I see it.  I am sure hes a great kid but he played like I saw and stated on the board in the 2 games I saw.  Also one player on MAC spoke to me after the game at MAC and told me #30 or #50, I cant remember or care which one it was, the rougher looking of the two was which one it was.... he said he threatened him and said he would take care of him after the game if this is any indication of what kind of players you have I wouldnt be backing a team or a player like that.  And what D2 schools were wanting Storandt's services if you could get me a list I will find out if they are true.  He is 6"8 so maybe I see it, but at the same time, if he was "heavily recruited by D2 schools"  why isnt he at one???  Let's be logical when we make statements on here guys....man!! I believe the loyalty was showed when Hettinga asked Robertson to go with him and take a chance on the kid that has only competed against the SLIAC and a few other D3 teams.  Now that is loyalty!!!  I am not a MAC brown nose I will tell it like it is, like I said Eureka came to play in the tourney and smothered MAC, no doubt, but every now and then a blind squirrel gets a nut. lol  That is all for now peace to my friends in the middle east

That post may have said something interesting, but after the ninth or tenth line in a row without a blank line to break it up, I stopped reading.

Try to emulate the rest of the posts and use, you know, paragraphs and such. The things you should've learned in fourth grad English class.

Woody - Robertson was hurt on a play for a 50/50 ball. Nothing like the cheap shot Fogerty took in the same game that resulted in him playing on a very tender knee. At least the kid from Mac's Dad appologized to the FU's Coach after the game for his son's action.

Enter - Storandt didn't need to score for FU to win this past season. Also, Parker and White were both recruited by D2. In Parker's case he could of went D1 in football. Kids come to FU cause they like the style of play and the education.

If I'm not mistaking Robertson has to redshirt for going from d3 to d2. I hope the best for the young man.

As for most of your other comments, we've seen your type come and go on this site.

If I remember correctly Robertson made a great bucket on a straight up defender early in the second half. He went horizontal and finger rolled up and in. Then he came crashing to the floor.I don't remember the defender. It was very very good amazing play. No defender mugged him he went down on his own. He did return later. A Fontbonne player in that game had blood drawn from the face on a shot . It looked  like a foul to me. No call. The referees in that game let in get way out of hand. They let things go that would have changed the face of that game. The crowd should not be allowed to threaten players on the court.Robertson is very athletic indeed.

FU Fan

Maybe I'm confused. It could have been another player. IT WAS A AMAZING BUCKET.

This is true. According to the NCAA, a player must redshirt if he goes from D3 to D2, from D3 to D1, or from D2 to D1.

I'm not familiar with the type of logic that doesn't make sense. Please elaborate, Woody.

You're clearly the most humble poster on this board as well. ::)

Getting away from the the recent subject....Blackburn has put up their men's basketball schedule....They start the season off with a game at Missouri-Rolla, play Robert Morris twice, and also play Millikin, Illinois college and Rose-hulman, while it may not be the toughest non-conference schedule in the league, it may prove tough for the team with just 4 players back who got significant playing time, and just 1 player has gotten more then one year of playing time

y_jack_lok

That's a solid non-conference slate for Blackburn. They are surely in rebuilding mode this year.

Just to start the speculation going, I'd say Fontbonne has to be the unquestioned favorite. Other contenders are likely to be -- in alphabetical order: Greenville, Webster, and Westminster. Question marks are all the rest -- in alphabetical order: Blackburn, Eureka, Lincoln Christian, MacMurray, Maryville, and Principia.

Very, very interesting Woody to know that you feel...

...is absolutely hilarious.  You obviously do not know your facts Mr. Paige because I am not, nor have I ever been the SID at Greenville. One.  Secondly, mid to late 20's is a far fetch to my age.  There's strike two.  That you even begin to think you are the most logical poster on this board is ludicrous. That's three and your out.

As much as I bump heads with old Sager, he makes more since in one small post than you do in the whole blurb that you posted earlier.

I don't feel I should have to explain myself or my actions at a ball game to you.  Hopefan and fcnews understands what I do.  They understand what my role is.  Visit Greenville and asked them.  Just because I am a very spirited and lively fellow at a ball game does not take away from my maturity.  I guess the fellows at Blackburn are immature too when they come to games hammered and start making crude remarks to visiting fans and players?

What's your motive?  It's not to proclaim the truth because I'm not sure any of the regulars here can find one true statement in any of your post?  Is it to stir up trouble? Probably.  As fcnews said, those folks come and go.

And, just to let you know.  If it helps my team win, I will run up and down the sidelines until i am 70.  Again, ask the boys in black and orange how much having someone gear the crowd up helps them?  Look around the SLIAC and pick which school has the best home attendance and home crowd support.  It's either Blackburn or Greenville.

Immaturity you call it.  That's fine.  Re-Read your post and think about who may be immature.

As an FYI to those interested, the Robert Morris team that Blackburn is playing twice is RMC-Springfield.

What are you talking about, Woody? You have never appeared on "PTI" that I know of. I thought you were an "Around the Horn" guy.

Also, I would like to point out that it's highly questionable a poster of Hopefan's (ahem) veteran status should be allowed to use the word crackin'...especially when it's followed by 4 exclamation points.

hopefan

Eureka SID, How about "Eureka sure has a good team, by Cracky!!!!"  ????

For Greg Sager -- thanks for that clarification. I had assumed it was RMC-Springfield (not Chicago) but didn't bother to check.
