Yes size in the middle is definitely a problem for Greenville, and may also be a problem for Westmin with the loss of Davis....

Poor Greenville vs a strong North Central team

Greenville up by 4 with 8 minutes left
They had 12 possessions after that
on 5 of the possessions, they got shots, making only 1   2 pointer in the last 8 minutes
on 5 of the possessions, they turned it over
on two of the possessions, they got fouled, making 3 of 4

I guess that is how a 4 point lead turns into a 15 point deficeit.

Chris Simmons had a heck of a night vs good competition  -  9 of 10 from the floor....

Though Blackburn doesn't look as a top SLIAC contender right now, wait until the conference schedules start and the faithful BC will take the SLIAC title hands down...
Go Beavers!

'Strong' maybe a little, well, too strong to describe North Central picked 6th in the CCIW pre-season.  The 2007-08 season will have a different look for North Central (16-10, 8-6) after losing Dan Walton, Anthony Simmons and Adam Krumtinger to graduation.  A good team trying to get better would be a better description.  But I'd agree you are "on the money" as to how a 4 point lead becomes a 15 point deficit - good analysis!

Based on the results to date, That's pretty much the way I see it too - I'm not sure that we can rule out Maryville yet - I like some of their returning group - just have to hope that they don't get too down absorbing the punishment of a brutal non conference schedule.  ...
Actually, Hopefan, I think this is a good, challenging non-conference schedule for Maryville. It is much better to take on tough, non-conference opponents to make your team better.  While Maryville lost by bunches to Wash U, Missouri Southern and Pittsburgh State, they also learned a lot about their weakness and gained more confidence in their strengths.  If Maryville improves those weaknesses and build on their strength, I think you could see them on top this year.

In their next four games, Maryville plays Coe & MSOE outside the conference and Westminister and Blackburn in conference.  You have a much better read as to Maryville's prospect in your conference.

Blackburn gets a win tonight against Robert Morris winning by a score of 74-67
Go Beavers!

That's Robert Morris-Springfield. As always, it's important to differentiate between the two Robert Morris teams.

A win is a win, especially considering it's Blackburn's first, and also knowing that Robert Morris Springfield beat MacMurray pretty badly two nights ago - congrats to Blackburn!!

My bad gentleman...didn't think to differentiate between the two, but yes that is Robert Morris of Springfield. And as Hopefan said, a win is a win and with this being our 1st, hopefully it can jump start us back into a winning direction.
Go Beavers!

Oh, I think it's a good win, too. RMC-Springfield is usually a decent-but-not-great team by D3 standards, and those particular Eagles are not to be taken lightly. Hats off to Blackburn for beating them. I simply want to get people in the habit of differentiating between the two sets of Robert Morris College Eagles, because both are from Illinois campuses and their pool of potential opponents has a lot of overlap.

I think in an earlier post Hopefan made it pretty clear that it was SLIAC Week for RMC-S.

Hopefan - Are you going to make it to the DSAC tommorrow afternoon?

Good win by the Beavers last night.  Blackburn played several freshman, in fact they started 4, with several returners coming off the bench.  10 players were in double figure minutes for the beavers which is a good sign of their depth this year.  This was easily the best game the BC has played to date and hopefully will lead to more good things for the Beavers.  Next game for the Beavers is the conference opener at Eureka.  Its conference time finally!!!...for a week....

Absolutely, a big difference between the two affiliated programs.  A win over RMC- Springfield is usually good.  A win over RMC-Chicago would usually be considered spectacular for most D3 teams.
