Pat Coleman was not man enough to retract his "sympathetic" statement when given the oppurtunity. Under his name it says Administrator. Not Moderator, Narrator or even "Save by the Bell" english teacher.
To quote Daryll Lloyd, it should read "Site Nazi".

Hey Pat quit playing semantics and post something that has some substantive worth to our audience instead of playing 6th grade word games that contribute nothing to our board.

I keep telling you guys, if it wasn't for the "Hits" this site could care less who we are. We're not the CCIW, WIAC or UAA. But, watch them squeal next monday cause the SLIAC has earned an AQ. Whether they like it or not.

Yeah. I don't know why I should retract it. Just because you deleted a bunch of your posts doesn't mean I won't stand behind what I said.

For the 146,602 SLIAC message board views we get about 35 bucks -- between 23 and 25 cents for every 1,000 views. The SLIAC has surely gotten more than 35 bucks of publicity from us, even though it's not among the top-echelon conferences.

The chip on your shoulder is blinding you. We have never begrudged anyone their automatic bid. We actually LOVE the automatic bids, defending them when other fans would argue against them. I'm sorry you have to assume we have it in for you.

FC: Don't worry I still check in occasionally to see how my alma mater is doing.  I haven't posted in over a year now, but felt compelled to since you referred to me by name.  I actually got a chance to catch a Webster game early in the season and liked what I saw, hopefully they can finish nicely for these seniors.  I would like to catch more games, but I truly have way to many things going on in my life at the moment, although I do enjoy the reading.  We will have to grab a beer next time BunchTime is in town.  Hope all is going well with you, and try not to get so upset with Pat, he can't help the way he is.

FC please keep us posted on the status of tonight's games at Fontbonne

Funny that people whine but can't stay away. Perhaps they just like hearing themselves complain.

The Power Outage has been repaired on FU campus.

fcnews, hopefan... whoever is at the Greenville/Fontbonne game, please keep me informed.  I'd be much obliged.

For my all conference ballot would be.....

1st Team

Brain Fogerty (Fontbonne)
Neil Compton (MacMurray)
Andrew Buxton (Westminister)
Josh Branch (Fontbonne)
Ryan Turk (Webster)

2nd Team

Mark Darnell (Eureka)
LaPhonso Ellis (Greenville)
Patrick McCoy (Fontbonne)
Brad Robinson (Webster)
Kyle Johnson (Principia)

I think there are one or two spots on the second team that can go to a number of players....such as Todd Zimmerman (Principia) Billy Long (MacMurray) Ben Cochran (Greenville) Aaron Steinke (Maryville) Justin Storandt (Fontbonne) Darrin Hoggatt (Webster)

I know people wont agree with these but this is just my opinion.

Baller brings up a point that hadn't been mentioned before - what about Patrick McCoy - what's a legit number of games to miss due to injury and still receive consideration for all conference?  Not sure of the answer..

Interesting point - 4 or 5 writers have put out thoughts on All conference teams, and in those, all 5 Fontbonne starters have received 1st or 2nd team mention.  Compare that to Webster, who is runnung away with the conference, but has had only 3 mentioned (Turk, Robinson, and Hogget).

Two different philosophies, go with the starters most of the game (Font), or go with the long bench (Webster).   We'll have to see which comes out on top at the end of the week..

Patrick's minutes played are probably equal to alot of others. Do you discount a kid because of injury? I'm not sure.

McCoy - 17.3 ppg., 53% fg., 54% 3pt., 3 rebs., 3.1 apg.

Looks like he has the stats.

Observation D*ck - I don't need one of Coleman's lackey's jumping in on the pile.

fcnews

Pride - I will be arriving right at game time. I'll be glad to send you updates. Good luck to your Panthers.

Who would of thought that Prin. would be making an impact on the conference tourney. Can they pull the Daily Double tonight?

fcnews

Bunchtime - Do you need me to pick you up at the airport Thursday? Or, are you taking a taxi straight to McClain's?

Iwumichigander, thank you for pointing out that what I have said are points that many others have also said "seperately."  I thought that I was entitled to post my opinion just like everyone else.  I guess since someone else has made a similar point I shouldn't or can't reiterate what others have said.

But on to your post, you say that the snenarios can get "too complex."  I don't know anything too complex about playing 1 game on a Wednesday night to determine who the 4 seed is.  Sure, you need to get refs and buses, but really, how hard can that be?  I think my solution is a simplistic approach to this snenario.
BT - I thought you did the best job of concisely laying out the significant points in one post. You are over reacting.

As to the Wednesday night game, your conference would have to forego a non-conference game to schedule what would be a play-in to your conf. tournament.  I would doubt your Administrative Committee would approve that?

For example, the CCIW looked at expanding their conference tournament by having a one round play-in game to qualify for the conference tournament (rather than an 8 team tournament).  The NCAA guidelines say the conference would have to give up a non-conference game (which could impact NCAA rankings).  The NCAA has no exception to resolve ties other than - the conference decides on a progressive set of hurdles to determine the finisher. Bor, did the conference members like the idea that regular season finishers 5-8 could end up in the tournament rather than 1-4.

BunchTime

Iwumichander, thanks for the insight.  However, in this conference we never have to worry about NCAA rankings, and rarely do we ever have to worry about regional rankings.  That said, I would still be in favor of dropping 1 non-conference in the event that an extra game would be needed to resolve a tie.  In the grand scheme of things, what is 1 game?

Admittedly, I am not that knowledgable on the rules or "hurdles" so perhaps my suggestion is not that practical, but it seems so to me.
