FC, as J_Clem has said, Webster is working on broadcasting the finals.  However, nothing is certain at this point.  At the very least, the live stats will be available.

Thanks Bunchtime. That's two people who have responded to my posts. For a second there, I thought I was talking to myself. I beleive Hopefan may be "Blocking" my posts, but that's understandable.

Live stats are a lot better then my slow ass texting. I'm so not with these modern gadgets.

Buncher,  you stated

'The SLIAC post-season ineptness is well documented and for this reason, I believe the committee will pass on them'

that really is not a relevant reason for Webster's chances being slim - without going into detail, the selections are based mainly on this season's in region performance, with additional weight being placed on the performance of the teams Webster played.
Webster's non conference schedule was among the best in the country, but unfortunately, they lost to the higher ranked teams that they played.  Combine that with wins over SLIAc teams with generally poor records, and it's likely that the hard objective data will leave Webster on the outside looking in.

When I look back at their schedule, the only team they lost to that was not a tourney contender was MSOE.  Other losses came to Auggie, Platteville, Wash U, and Ill Wesleyan.   Given the fact that they get little to no credit in the system for going 16-0 in the SLIAC , I'd go out on a limb and say they needed a win over MSOE and one other to have gotten in....

Hopefan, you know more about the selection process than me, but what I meant by that quote was that if Webster and another team were a virtual tie as far as getting in, subjectively, the ineptness of the SLIAC would keep them out.  Like I said, I don't really know how the process goes, but that was my thought on it.

But than again, I won't even be watching or listening to the selection process (if that is even possible) as I am almost as certain as it gets that they won't recieve an at-large bid.

FC, you're picking on me again....  I have been writing on and off all morning with my take on things.

I have no idea whether the game is on the internet

I have no idea why Robinson and Hoggitt got limited minutes

Rebounding boggled my mind - as I stated in one of my posts, Baker, Holland and Steinke really battled - face it, Hoggit is a great shooter, but not a rebounder - if Robinson is not getting minutes and if Stigemeier isn't his usual self due to injury, then Maryville may very well have an advantage on the boards

Another key stat...  Maryville shot less threes, and made more, than is usual-  the ball went into Baker Holland and Deimecke often, and Saxton McCoy and Koopman were taking it to the basket with success.  I LOVED that part of the game - Maryville's 3 point shooting escapades have been a nightmare all year.

Hey guys as of now the broadcast is still being planned.  it is looking like in order for there to be a broadcast, I would be running the board in the studio and two other people would be calling the action (not my favorite idea) but i think we owe it to the teams and to the fans that we broadcast the finals

Sorry, no Saintscast tomorrow.  The live feed for the webcast hasn't really worked all year but for a couple of games.  We figured since Webster has a webcast that is up and running well, there was no need to do it.

I'm sure the former players would rather listen to a neutral webcast from a Webster guy instead of Tim and I's meaningless blabber.  :D

The SLIAC's tourney history wouldn't enter into the discussion even if Webster and another Pool C candidate were deadlocked in the eyes of the committee. After the five primary criteria are exhausted, the committee is allowed to consider secondary criteria -- and past season's results are not a secondary criteria, either. In short, the ineptitude of the SLIAC in past tourneys means absolutely nothing in the eyes of the selection committee.

MSOE was actually a Pool B possibility until the Raiders were beaten in the NAthCon semifinals a couple of days ago.

I regret to inform you that The Galaxy will not be broadcasting tomorrow's SLIAC Tournament Finals game featuring (#4) Maryville vs (#3) Fontbonne.

We could not get full cooperation from The Galaxy staff and will not be able to do the game. Thanks to all of those who listened to our coverage of Men's Basketball. You can catch coverage of Webster Baseball coming later this spring..

Thanks again.

It's a beautiful morning in the STL. today. Coffee at Starbuck's with a friend, outdoors at a table, around 6:30am. You late risers don't know what your missing. For all of you traveling to the game today, safe travels. I hope there is a big turnout of All Conference recrients, it will be fun to honor these kids with a standing ovation. They have earned it. College basketball is a long season. These kids start preparing for it during the summer and it continues right up to the 1st of March. A lot of pain and hard work along the way. All of this to do something they love and entertain us fans. We are in debt to these young men.

See you all at the game.

Well FC, you should have invited me - I would have stopped on my wat to work.....   will see you at the game.....

I forgot All conf was today too

Hopefan's all conf 1st team
Fogerty  best player in the conference
Fournie   has shut down every one he guards, has gotten critical hoops
Storandt  best rebounder in league
Turk   tough call due to some inconsistent play, but made the big hoops when needed
Ellis  He plays great every time I see him

Sorry I had to leave off Buxton, Compton, Hoggatt, Robinson, P McCoy
They are my 2nd team

Player of year  Fogerty
Newcomer  Cochrane
6th man of the year  Casey Holland
Coach of the year  in a shocker the Eureka Coach  Chip Wilde
Why?  Everyone knew that Font, Webster and Westminster had the most talent coming in, and they acheived where they were supposed to.
Everyone knew that Maryville and Greenvill would most likely be battling it out for 4th with their returning talent.  Who could have imagined that Eureka with the loss of the two big men and others would also compete, especially after going winless in non conference.  Kudos to Coach Wilde for getting alot out of mostly new starters.

Congrats to Coach McKinney and Fontbonne on another conference tourney title and a bid to the NCAA tourney.  It looked like an exciting game from following the live stats.  Fontbonne was down by as many as 14 with less than 18 minutes remaining and finally took the lead late.  I am looking forward to hearing all about the game from those who were in attendance.

I hope this is the year that the SLIAC can get a win in the NCAA tourney.  We've been wishing this for a while now, I know.  Fontbonne will be sporting a 21-6 record and hopefully can get a favorable first round game.  We shall see.

Once again, congrats to Coach McKinney and Coach Rogers and their respective teams on what appeared to be a helluva game.

A Fontbonne win and a Wash U. loss, It's a great day to be a Griifin. FU goes back to back for the first time in SLIAC history. And, the dreaded curse of beating the same team three times showed it's ugly head. AGAIN. All thre times in the past two years. HMMMM!!!!

Congats to Fogerty for being named POY. Congrats to Fournie for being named Tournament MVP. And, SLIAC coahes better look again at putting Storandt HM.

y_jack_lok

Congratualtions to Fontbonne. We knew at the start of the season that they would be the team to beat. It just took a while for all their players to be healthy at the same time, and fortunately it happened when it mattered.

Congrats also to Maryville who proved that peaking at the right time can take you a long way -- all the way to two points from a conference tournament championship and a trip to the NCAAs.
