No 5 hour bus ride for this game for yours truly. I'll have an open line to the game tonite with visuals and be listening to the audio like everyone else. Now if they were putting FU up for the nite, different story. The Griffins will be arriving back home about 3am. To much for this old man for just an exhibition game.

Tonites game pits two coaches in The Mo. Sports Hall of Fame. Coach McKinney class of '95 and Coach Loos class of '07. Coach Loos is also a member of the STL Amatuer Baseball Hall of Fame. And the two coaches faced each other as Legion coaches, back in the day. Don't look for Coach Loos to call off the dogs early though. Not his style.

AP's overall size an athleticism will be a load for the Boy's in Purple.

APSU 39 - FU 35 at halftime. FU was leading much of the first half but APSU went on a late run to take a lead into the locker room.

I have the live video, too. Looks like APSU is turning up the tempo of the game in the 2nd half, but at the moment thye've commited more 2nd half fouls.

Fontbonne forced to a zone defense in 2nd half and AP got hot. The boys played Hard. That's the best news. T. Lovette had a great first half and rolled ankle late in the half, he was 4/5 from the field 6 rebs. and 2 blks. in 10 mins. Thats the exact type of mins. we need out of him this year. News is it's not to severe a sprain. Good first game for Chris Forrest.

I was extremely proud of the effort, considering the opponent.

AP got hot in part because they began pressing about 8-10 minutes into the 2nd half, forced some turnovers, got some quick baskets. Once they got it to a steady 20 point lead they took the press off for the final 3-5 minutes. I couldn't read the final score on the screen but I thought the announcer said 91-70.

Maryville plays UT-Martin, also an OVC team like AP, Friday at 11:30 A.M. Link to the OVC broadcast site:

Wow that is a strange game time. They must be going on the road after the MU game. With games against Austin Peay, SEMO and now UT-Martin (all OVC teams) it will give somewhat of reletive comparison.

Get your Piggy Bank ready. Word is MU will be charging $6 at the gate this year.
