I don't know BDB, we were only down by 20 or so when the T got called.  Could have been a big momentum swing.  I hate it when the refs decide the game like that.  ;)  :)

Hopefully the WARHAWKS[/color] realize tonight's game is actually forty minutes long and not ten.

on the technicals.  no techs really ever change the game in the sense that the coach needs to know how far to go with the refs.  you know who has the quick t whistle and who doesn't..........very few refs are on a power trip and want to influence the game, if they are they need to get out of the profession.  I have reffed numerous younger level games and have handed out maybe 10 t's in my reffing career............of which i feel all were justifed and after fair warning........

again officiating boils down to consistency whether the official is ****ty or good all you can ask for is consistency that is what makes a good official

horrible officating in rf/osh game!

One question I do have after looking at who officiated the game, was which official called the charge, and the ensuing technical fouls??  I have always thought that Dave Keliher was one of the better officials in this conference (along with Mike Bunge and Brad Presentin) and noticed he was one of the officials for the UWO/UWRF game.  Sometimes your partners can make the whole team look like "poor officials" or maybe Dave just had an "off-game" just like players do.

Does anyone have the answer to Cubs questions? I am wondering as well.

The refs in the Oshkosh-River Falls game were Paul Barno, Mike Carr, and Dave Kelliher. So Cubs was right, Kelliher was manning the whistle on Saturday.
Don't give up. Don't ever give up.

I assume its Kelliher, he has always had a quick whistle against RF. Not sure if this is correct though.

Pointers lose a heartbreaker (and their home win streak) to Platteville 70-66. Trailing most of the game, SP fought back to take the lead in the closing minute, but Platteville took it away. It seems the refs let them play in the last minute, not calling what many in the crowd thought was a charge on the pass off for the winning bucket. Well the Pioneers return the favor breaking the Pointer win streak much as we did to theirs a few years back (although 28 does not really compare to 96). Hats off to the Pioneer for stealing this win. I really don't know how the are only 4-4 in conference they seem to be a much better team than that.

La Crosse was fortunate to escape with a 57-55 wn over a determined River Falls Falcon squad tonight at Mitchell Hall. Joe Werner canned a 12 foot baselie jumper as time expired to seal the win. Just prior to the shot, Chris Ask just got a pass off before falling to the floor in what some might have seen as travelling. Opinion was mixed on this subject when the discussion began at The Eagle's Nest, but after two or three beers we all agreed it was a great call. RF gave a great effort, and deserves to have a better record than they do - if tonight's effort is any indication. Losses by Point and WW really throw the race into chaos. Will we now see all WAC teams out of the top 25?

Mr. Downtown

Probably, but...who knows. Maybe more people will jump on Oshkosh's bandwagon and get them in. They might not be up to the bar of there preseason rankings, but they are finding a way to win these close games now, and on top of the conference.

Stat of the night:

Point total fouls: 18
Point total rebounds: 15

(and this has nothing to do with how the game was called)

15 total rebounds?  ??? >:( :'(

I know that...... I looked at the boxscore.  I was wondering of the three, which ONE called the charge and the ensuing technicals?????

Player of the 1/2 year-Take your pick....... I guess as long as I NEED to put a name here I will go with Leonard Cobb (strictly off of stats-#1 in scoring and rebounding.)

Coach of the 1/2 year-Bob Semling

1st team All-Conference (five players)
Leonard Cobb-SUP (As good a player there is in the league.  Too bad he doesn't have any help.)
Joe Werner-LAX
Jon Krull-SP (Top 8 in scoring, rebounding and assists.)
Brian Bauer-SP (Top 10 is scoring, reboundong, and assists.)
Hans Hoeg-RF (Without him, RF wouldn't be in a lot of the games they are.)

-No Oshkosh or Whitewater players, as they really don't have anyone putting up big numbers.  They are playing like a TEAM, and hence their current 1st Place Standing.

1st half Surprise team-LaCrosse

1st half Disappointing team-Oshkosh (Appears they have "righted" the ship after lackluster start.
