Any word on Jenkins yet?  Is he officially not playing?  They could really use him with all the injuries.  How good is Jackson?  I heard over the summer that he's going to start and has 1rst team WIAC potential.  Was I misinformed?

Well, as of right now, he's still on the roster.

Point doesn't need Jenkins as much as the AZ Cardinals do.  :D

Sup has never had live stats to my knowledge...  I'm not sure about the audio, but they've had video the last couple of seasons (with a play by play call).

Whitewater has video for their game tonight vs. La Crosse:  HERE

Stout had video last year too... but I don't see any links for it.  Just the Point radio feed.

I thought 5 years ago they were going to close Superior?  Did somebody grease Governor Doyle to keep it open?   We all know that is all it takes.  :'(

No Jenkins for Point.  I'm giving up hope of him playing this year.  Can't believe their only down 2 at Stout right now with all the injuries.

John Gleich

Stout took an early 27-17 lead, but Point cut it to 2, 39-37 at the half.  Hostetter was huge early, had 15 points at the half, and Mahlon Thomas was pretty big in the first half too.

Hostetter was absolutely shut down in the second half (2, I think?) and Hurd really came on strong, scoring 15 in the second half.

Per the radio post game:

Stout led by
Hostetter and Thomas with 17
Olson with 12

Point led by
Hurd  with 18
Giordanna with 14
D. Tillema and Hoelzel with 11
T Tillema and Krull with 8

Point shot 29/61 47%  6/17  from 3
Stout shot 23/59 39% 8/25  from 3

Point had 36 rebounds (10 offensive)

Stout had 37 rebounds (11 offensive)

16 assists, 12 turnovers for Point
8 assists, 17 turnovers for Stout

A really big play in the second half was, down 5, Point was on the line for a 1 and 1 and missed... and Hoelzel got the rebound and missed it, but D. Tillema got the board and scored and was fouled and made a FT to cut the lead to 2.

Another defining play in the second half was a baseball pass by D. Tillema to half court to Krull who took it in for a layup and missed... and Dan Tillema sprinted from baseline to baseline as the action was happening and got the offensive rebound and scored.

I really, really like Stout, they play tough defense and when they're on, they're really on and can score in bunches... if you don't set your defense, they'll kill you, and that's what they did last year to Whitewater twice (even though WW pulled out the first one, in Menomonie) and Point in the second match up...  They did that in the SAME WEEK last year, if you recall.

And Stout has some great players in Hostetter and Thomas, and I really like Olson, the sophomore point guard.  And they're scrappy on defense.  But they turn the ball over in bunches.  Point had back to back to back steals to start the second half that helped SP build the lead.

And I also feel like the individuals are trying to do it all themselves.  Now, don't get me wrong, they've got some great players... but when you're attacking a good TEAM defensive team, you're playing 1 on 2, or 3, or 5... and it's very difficult.

Platteville lost to Luther 53-55.  What's going on in Platteville...?
