Oshkosh picks up a win over Wartburg out in Vegas.

The bench comes up big, as Wojahn has a double-double and Wittwer scores a team high 19 points to lead the way.  Kellner chips in with a career high 15 points (on five 3-point FG's) and Flanagan reaches double figures with 11 points to lead the starters.

Wasn't there a guy about 5 years ago that had a feature article in the Milwaukee Journal?  He went to school at Whitewater for 10 years and finally decided to graduate.  He had like 6 degrees.  I seem to remember something like that.

He has roughly 250 credits and at least 6 degrees.  I'm not sure if he's graduated yet or not.

Elmhurst knocks off UW Oshkosh 70-66 in OT out in Las Vegas.  Oshkosh puts three guys in double figures, as Schrimpf leads the way with 21 (6-12 3FG) while Kellner adds 15, and Flanagan 12 points and 7 rebounds.

UWO has four different players foul out during the OT session, as Elmhurst was 29-40 from the FT line (compared to 9-13 for Oshkosh.)  In all fairness, UWO heaved up 32 3FG, so it wasn't as if they were taking the ball to the basket to draw fouls.

Oshkosh battled back after being down by as many as 10 points in the first half, but unfortunately let a 6 point lead with 3:25 left in the second half slip away.  Elmhurst controlled the OT session scoring the first seven points, and never looked back.

Elmhurst over Oshkosh in OT (boxscore)

Schrimpf had a solid night. Six 3s for 21.  Kellner and Flanigan chipped in with 15 and 12.  Washington and Flanigan led the way in rebounds with 8 and 7 apiece.  Oshkosh had 3 starters and 4 total players foul out with Schrimpf at 4 fouls.  Needless to say, Elmhurst went to the line a lot.  29 of 40.  Oshkosh was 9 of 13.  On the other hand, Oshkosh was 11 of 32 from 3-land while Elmhurst was just 3 of 13.

Oshkosh blew a 6 point lead with 3:25 to go.

Completely missed that.  No idea why I missed your post.  Hopping around the WIAC site and then went to Oshkosh's site and decided to post.  The last time I read the board, you hadn't had anything up on it, so just posted it without looking again!  Oh well.  It was 2 in the morning!

The WARHAWKS beat Carroll University last night by a 71-56 score.  Neither team started the game shooting well as it took almost three minutes before a Chris Davis layup put the first points on the board.  The WARHAWKS gradually built a lead to a first half high of eleven points, 20-9, before Carroll made a run to pull within two points 21-19 with about two and half minutes remaining.  WHITEWATER made three three-point baskets over the last couple of minutes and led 37-30 at the half.  Carroll kept the spread in single digits for the first four minutes of the second half when Alex Edmunds scored on a layup to put the WARHAWKS on top 44-33 and the lead, which grew to as many as twentyfour points, remained in double figures the rest of the game.

Cody Odegaard, Phil Negri and Davis each scored 14 points.  Davis had another double-double as he pulled down a game high 10 rebounds.  Antone Bryd also scored in double figures with 13 points.  Negri had a game high 5 assists and Bryd had a game high 5 steals.

As Schrimpf goes, the Titans go.
Would love to hear you explain this one.....

Monday night Schrimpf fails to reach double digits and the Titans win.....

Tuesday night Schrimpf leads them in scoring with 21 points and the Titans lose....

Am I missing something??

Going to the Stevens Point vs St. Thomas game tonight.
Prediction if the game stays in the high 50's low 60's Point wins any higher scoring then that I see St. Thomas winning.
That being said Go Point! :) I dont wanna see St. Thomas beat both River falls and Point.

The game will be videocast as well as Point's usual radio feed.

The stats don't agree with this though, Stoutfan...  Per the Tommie gamenotes, Point is 32-2 when scoring 61 or more points but 1-4 when scoring 60 or less since March of 2009.  One of those losses came at the hands of the Tommies, in the NCAA tournament two years ago, 53-50.

Both teams average in the mid 70's and give up points in the low 60's.  Something's gotta give... and whichever team battens down the hatches defensively will win this one.  I expect a pretty close game with UST grabbing an early lead, Point pulling about even at the half, and then Point pulling away in the second half.  Point wins this one by about 9, I'll say 72-63, due to free throws at the end of a tight 5 point ballgame.
