WOW, finally it wasnt my choice of words that got turned around and twisted!! lol  :D ;D

Some people need to learn to read between the lines when it comes to typed responses.  ::) Of course he didnt mean that it was "easily gonna happen." He just meant that he could see it and wouldnt be all that surprised.

Thanks UWRF, I guess I could have used some different wording but UWRF understood what I meant to a T.  I obviously expect St. Thomas to make it out of their pod, I just wouldn't be surprised to see UWRF upset them, I think UWRF matches up well with St. Thomas.

Drake, save me the preseason number 4 talk.  Preseason rankings don't mean anything.  Illinois Wesleyan I'm sure is a formidable opponent, one I will admit I don't know much about.  I do know they were lucky to make the tournament though.  So, I'll change my wording around so nobody gets construed for a second time...If RF gets past IWU, I like how they match up with the Tommies.  If anything, it will be a very close game I would imagine.

IWU is one of the best traveling teams that I've seen.  They'll bring a large contingency of fans who will be very vocal.

Tickets are now on sale at the UWSP ticket office 715-346-4100.

They've been allotted 300 tickets, so call soon. They can be picked up at the ticket office or at the game on Friday.

Greek Tragedy

Concordia has been ranked higher in their respective regions.  So, they could have easily been "ranked" higher in the pod.

That blows my mind.... they're not going to clear the gym after game 1?  They're just going to parcel out 1/6 of the tickets to the three visiting schools and have half for the CUW?!

I know the women are hosting and that Norberts women are playing SP's as well as them men... which will divert some of the fans away...

But this is just flat out wrong.  SP's 300 will be sold within the next couple of hours, guaranteed.

By the way... are you going to try to go to any of the games Tom, because they're in your neck of the woods?

Nothing of any certainty about the ticket sales  was posted on the SP website at 11:30 (and still isn't) so I called just to see when they were going on sale. I was surprised that they were on sale since 11:00 and even more surprised when I was told only 300 were available. $7 for the two games is cheap.

Already got the go-ahead!  Wahoo! ;D :D ;) :)   Not sure what the "cost" will be yet in exchange. ::) ???

A few late night shifts ought to cover it.  As long as the Pointers win, it will be worth it. I am working this weekend, so I should get an opportuity to stop by the women's game.

For those staying home, CUW hasn't had any live video or live stats this season. Just audio. Although they've done video in previous seasons. Not sure what their intentions are, but I hope they resuurect their video broadcast.

It looks like the game on Friday is at 5:30... it'll take me every bit of an hour and a half to get up to Mequon in rush hour... looks like I'l be taking that one in at home and hoping for the Saturday night match-up.

I wouldn't be surprised if somehow d3hoops or the NCAA covered it with live video....but I'm not fully in the loop as to what exactly is happening with what games this weekend....

I heard in the Hoopsville broadcast yesterday that the NCAA won't be doing any game and I don't think D3Hoops had any plans either if I heard correctly. As a matter of fact the championship game won't even be televised this year either. :(

The championship game won't be televised, but it will be webcasted......

It is sounding like there will be no d3sports video from either Concordia or Augustana this weekend.  Best bet is that one of the visiting teams would live video their games.

St Thomas will be broadcasting the three in St. Paul for sure....

First off, I agree with Nick Krull getting first team all conference. The kid is what every team needs. He scores when the opportunity comes and he rebounds, screens, and guards the opposition's best offensive threat every game. At 6'7, he is a tough match up for a lot of teams at the division III level. Jon Flanigan of UW-Oshkosh got snubbed, but it's hard to argue with any of the 10 on the first team. He also has another year to prove himself worthy of WIAC first team. Also, I feel that Eric Wall got the snub as well. He dominated several games this year in conference play, but then again it's hard to argue with any of the 10 on the first team.

As always, the Midwest region is stacked in the NCAA tournament. Kind of reminds us of the 2009 NCAA tournament when the committee thought it would be nice to put #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 in the same 8 team regional, three of which were WIAC teams. I really think the tournament committee has no love for the WIAC.

UW-Stevens Point and UW-River Falls both drew very tough first round opponents, and if they both win, they play very stiff competition in the second round as well. Illinois Wesleyan is a very good program, and at 19-8, they could be reminiscent of the Wheaton team who squeaked into the 2008 NCAA tournament at 19-7 and went all the way to the Elite 8. Let's hope River Falls doesn't let that happen. Everyone has talked about how River Falls hasn't been the same team as of late, which I agree, but NCAA tournament appearances mean 0-0. They have a full week to prepare for Illinois Wesleyan and also have a chance to put in new plays, defenses, etc. I think UWRF will be fine in this instance and will be ready to play. When Voeltz, Manor, and Koonkaew are clicking with Anderson knocking down shots, UWRF has a shot to go deep.

UW-Stevens Point vs. St. Norbert's will be a good game, but for how long? Point has run people out of Quandt, out of the city of Point and out of the state. They beat two WIAC opponents by 50 or more points. We all know that basketball games start at 0-0. St. Norbert's is a good team and I see Coach Grzesk preparing them well for the Point game. Who knows what could happen? NCAA tournament time is the best. Even after losing arguably their most athletic player (Dan Tillema), Point hasn't missed a beat. I see them making another National Title Run, but a tough regional awaits them.
