Oshkosh's roster is now posted.  There are a ton of new names as expected, many of which I've never heard of.  Also, it doesn't look to have much size but with a rebounding machine like Flanigan, they may not need a ton of size.

Lots of good players not on the list

One of my favorite moments includes 2 not on that list:  Tony Carr of UWEC and Andre McCoy of WW going at it shot for shot--I think they both had about 35, and WW won by about 7-8 pts.

Good luck narrowing it down to 10

Gotta throw in a most recent UWLer - Tony Mane, although I'm not sure he'd make the Top 10...

I got a report today that Adam Abegglen has left the team at UWSP.  My source didn't have any info in terms of why he quit.

Hmm...not what I wanted to read on a Saturday night.  For those that have seen the scrimmages, was Abegglen in a position to play more than Kacala and Parlow??  I haven't been able to watch the team yet so all I can go off of is what I read here and on the UWSP site.

Where is Kincaid??  He'd help in the post depth department from the get go.

I only saw the exhibition against Wisconsin... I don't remember much in terms of individual performances of the big guys with the exception of Kacala.  He made 3 turnovers trying to do a little too much in the first half.  He did get a pretty aggressive rebound and put back in the second half though, FWIW.

I wouldn't expect too much from the other big guys initially... they are usually slower in developing and many of the guys they're going to be going against are upperclassmen... who are 2-3 years older, used to the physicality of the college game and who have been hitting the weights too.

That being said, I wonder what we'll see from Cross this year at UWP.  He had a very solid year but had some break out games in the last quarter of the season.

I'm sure Kacala had passed him on the depth chart and Parlow was right there as well. One of my prior posts alluded to the fact that Abbeglen was more content to fire up 3 balls than mix it up inside despite his size. Fan speculation at the Purple-Gold game was that he has a power forwards' body with a point guard opinion of himself. Absolutely no idea if this is true because we all aren't privy to the "inner workings" of what goes on in the locker room or the practice floor.

I know it's apples and oranges a little bit... but for a little more perspective on the UWSP/Wisconsin exhibition, the Badgers beat Kennesaw State 85-31 yesterday...

STORY

Kennesaw State hit just 3 shots in the first half and trailed 41-8.  Yikes!

I believe Kennesaw State is a pedestrian mid-major at best.  I'm not sure about the apples/oranges comparison but that being said ... UWSP did fine for a young team against a nationally ranked team.

I agree on all counts... the apples to oranges may be the exhibition vs. regular season game.  The Badgers may have cared more, possibly.

Just Bill

I also think Bo Ryan makes sure to hold back the horses a little bit more against the WIAC schools out of respect from his past association with the league.
