I would echo tomt's comments on Manor.

I've seen 5 games this year and in the ones that were close in the second half, the offense relies on him getting to the basket to score or make a play for someone else.......similar to the role Koonkaew played the last couple years.  I haven't seen Davis this year, and my guess is he's the favorite for POY at this point, but I would think Manor will be in the discussion if RF can stay in the race.  One of the most impressive things to me is how he seems to get into the lane and finish almost at will even without any consistent outside shooting so far this year.  Anderson hit a couple big 3's in the second half against Point, but he's not shooting nearly as well as he has in the past (50% from 3 last year on 118 attempts compared to 37% so far this year) and nobody else is much of an outside threat.  I wonder if teams will start to adjust to make RF beat them outside and keep Manor out of the lane as the season wears on.

Even though you didn't ask about it..........Ollie White has also looked pretty good as he has picked up some of the scoring load recently.

Any word on ECs Andy Kleist?  Is he hurt?  How bad?

Also, is STs Ragland still on the team?
Kleist has a broken hand and is out 4-6 weeks...

For overall hustle and effective play, Kimble has been impressive. At Sioux Falls he had 7/8 f.g., including 3/4 on threes, 5/6 f.t., 4 assts, 3steals in 37 minutes, the most of anybody. He was similarly effective vs. Point, altho not in scoring (I think he had 11). If someone steals the ball from him, that player better get rid of it immediately bcuz Kimble will try to get it back. No hang dog, give up, get mad at yourself attitude there.
He's capable of amazingly athletic plays, as is Manor. Sometimes they combine for double "spectacularics"--I know, it's not a word, but I couldn't think of a better one.

All that said, I don't have a good feeling about the WW game. We have to hope Davis gets in early foul trouble.

I wasn't home... I just tuned in and the broadcast ended.  Live stats were stuck at 2:01 with Point up 8... I'll assume they won, do you have a score?

I echo Fred's comments regarding Kimble.  He is incredibly athletic and is major quick.  He had a couple of end to end baskets last night that were really something.  Manor is also a very good player.  But the night last night belonged to Chris Davis.  Playing just the first six minutes of the first half due to foul trouble Davis had 11 points and despite the long layoff and suffering a bruised knee that cost him court time in the second half the senior big stayed hot and wasn't going to be denied.

The WARHAWKS handed the Falcons their first conference loss 84-70.

Starting the game with a three-pointer Davis scored five of the WARHAWKS first seven points and they took the lead from start to finish.  The lead grew to double figures and reached a high of fourteen during the first half.  River Falls whittled the lead down single digits with slightly less than three and half minutes remaining before the half ended with the WARHAWKS up eight 34-26.  While the WARHAWKS played fourteen minutes of the half without Davis the Falcons played half of the half without Manor who also had foul problems.  The Falcons closed to within seven points twice in the second half.  The second time was with slightly less than fourteen minutes remaining 44-37 but the WARHAWKS scored the next ten points.  The WARHAWKS largest lead was eighteen points, 65-47, at the nine minute mark.  River Falls cut it in half 71-62 with a little over four minutes remaining but a three-pointer from Eric Bryson pushed back into double figures where it remained for the rest of the game.

Davis finished the game with 31 points going 10-13 from the floor including 6-8 from beyond the arc in 23 minutes. His efficiency rating was +36.  Luke Noble led the WARHAWKS on the boards with a game high 9 rebounds and added 16 points.  As a team the WARHAWKS equaled River Falls 31 rebounds.  Quardell Young scored in double figures with 12 points and had a team high 5 assists.

Kimble led three Falcons in double figures with 19.  Manor added 16 and Ollie White 12.

The WARHAWKS out shot the Falcons 53% to 47%.  Each team made 27 baskets but the WARHAWKS sank 9 three-pointers to 5 for the Falcons and outscored the Falcons 21 to 11 from the free throw line.  It was a very physical game.

No game reviews from the Point faithful on the Eau Claire near miss?  I just know we had a 15-point lead and it got down to two! Big games coming up (what games aren't?)!

Great effort by T. Tillema and JB had some nice moments.  Keeping with this year's MO SP does well in the first half but then fades in the second.  We don't seem to make adjustments on the fly well.  Maybe we get tired since we play only 8 players (9 last game).  Those off the bench aren't in too long.  We need to develop a killer instinct that puts teams away.  My major concern is our lack of consistent board play.  It could hurt us in the end.

Not much can be said from a Blugold perspective, since I'm not sure an 11-point loss can even be construed as a moral victory... at least not by my standards, it can't...

The Blugold losing streak to UWSP is now 22 straight games... "Oh, the pain," as Zachary Smith * would say...

it certainly was a much more competitive game than the last time EC visited the Quandt!! In that game Point was up 33-4 before "settling" for a 92-37 win.  I for one was happy to see EC in this one to the end as it made for great entertainment. I was also happy to see a new face in the game for Point as Nick Kacala saw action and added some height to the lineup. He fired up the gym with his play in the last couple of minutes of the first half with a reb, steal and 4 pts in the last minute of play.
