I watched Oman do almost the exact same thing as a Junior in HS at Forest Lake for a win.

PS,

Regarding the level of play in the league.  I do think it might be down a tad overall.  Still some very skilled players but not as many this year.  The loss of the three transfers obviously decreases the level of play and I might agree that the redshirting has some to do with that.  I also think that in the case of WIAC schools, the D-II's have hit the state harder than they ever have before for recruits and with that several that used to end up in our league are getting their "scholarships" to go to Northern Michigan, Winona State etc.  With the tough economic times it's even more important for parents to get some help with the cost of school and I think that has something to do with it.  I know Point has lost multiple recruits to D-II every year as I'm sure the other schools have to.  As an interesting aside, why can't Parkside pull any of these players in.  They are D-II but don't have much going for them.

Should be an interesting final day of the regular season.  I'll be watching the Pointers try to get a share of the title.  I think it's going to be a tough game coming off that loss on Wed.

Let's go WARHAWKS!!!!!   Wish I could be up where I'm from at the Karges Center cheering on my hawks and possibly visiting with Fred Falcon, been a long time since I've been back to the old RF.

Looking forward to the games tonight... rooting hard for Point and just a little bit less for Whitewater!

Wow!  What a surprise for UWSP!  Dropping their last two games.  No boards and no adjustments.  I know Ty was injured but ... where is the game plan?  We seem to have no offensive scheme and we really didn't play D well.  Let's hope the playoffs are kinder to us!  Go Point!

After the losses to Point AND Superior, Who would have thought UW-Whitewater would have won the WIAC... Not me..

I really, really like this Whitewater team.  They are doing it with defense this year and taking care of the ball... not really the Whitewater MO during the Miller era.

I think it may depend a lot on the draws... but I wouldn't be surprised if Whitewater goes the farthest of any of the WIAC teams who make the tournament.

I, for one, will never underestimate a Stevens Point team..

A lot of it may hinge on Tyler Tillema... he suited up but didn't play at all for Point.  That's 17 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, and better than a steal per game... in addition to his overall court leadership.

Yep.  I'm not sure at what point he got hurt against Stout but he played through it... may not have been 100% and he missed the FT that could have sealed it.

Depending what the injury was, that might not have been that surprising... radio guys said that it was his left hand that was heavily bandaged (and he's a lefty).

Point officiially on the Pool C bubble now.  The records are prior to this week's two losses by Point and River Falls.  They could drop to 5th or 6th in the region.  I believe Whitworth, St. Thomas and CMS did not lose this week.  Whitewater will be #1, probably followed by Whitworth and St. Thomas.  Not sure if CMS will jump River Falls or Point, but it'll be a battle now to get a Pool C bid, at least for Point.  I believe Gustavus Adolphus, Whitman and Puget Sound all lost this week.

I'm not sure I agree...

1. Whitewater
2. Whitworth
3. Maybe CMS?
4. River Falls
5. Point

RF and Point still have a ton of games vs. regionally ranked opponents and high SOS.  CMS may not even jump Point and/or RF... though it will be interesting to see how it all shakes up.
