I doubt we have the gym capacity to host, but. . .

GT--sometimes the underdog wins. We certainly were not favored to win in WW.

Technically, you do, since Karges meets the 1,000-capacity minimum required by D3. The first weekend, especially, being assigned to host is more a matter of geography and seeding than anything else.

Congrats to the Falcons.  They played hard and won.  Missing free throws down the stretch doomed our cause.

Fred, Guerin played like an all conference player today.

BW--Good for him! He's had to battle injuries the last two years.

It didn't sound like an artistic game:  21 and 15 turnovers for RF, WW respectively.

GS--thanks for the info. I did not know geography was that important, but it makes sense.

Geography is very important.  Sometimes the best, most deserving teams don't host because of geography.  With that said, with St. Thomas winning their conference and tourney, they could get the nod over the Falcons.

GT--but what about regional rankings? Do they matter in hosting decisions?

GT, 2 questions... Do you see ST hosting, and do you think UW-W will go there?

RF won the H2H vs. UST and has a higher regional ranking.

Part of my reasoning that St. Thomas may host over River Falls is because I think Whitewater will host as well.  Not sure if they'll have two WIAC teams host.  Whitewater isn't going to St. Thomas, I don't think.  Rankings do matter, but they aren't the only thing that goes into hosting bids.  I honestly don't know much about the criteria they use, but that's what I feel.

Part of me, because of regional rankings and geography, lead me to believe tha UW-Whitewater will host... Bit with the NCAA, one never knows...

Falcons04

I will admit I'm not at all familiar with the process and I'm completely guessing here, but it seems possibly WW could host teams like Carroll, possibly Lake Forest, Edgewood, or North Central.  Whitworth could host CMS and the teams from Texas, while UWRF could host St. Thomas, IIAC winner, and Point.

D3hoops.com put out their projected brackets. They think UWW will be hosting, while UWRF will be at NCC, and UWSP will be at Hope.
