I dunno if it's gamesmanship or truth...

But Ty Tillema tweeted there's a possibility he might be playing tonight.

Perhaps that's not news... but it's possibly more than we've heard on the subject?

Sounds like from a post on the CCIW board that Illinois Wesleyan is going to be missing their best player who got hurt in practice Wednesday...so looks like a big advantage to the Pointers tonight...

Point is plain awful right now, they are doing nothing well today.  If Semling doesn't get some size on Victor Davis, he'll do the same thing Ollie White did in the WIAC Semi's.

I didn't get a chance to watch or listen to the Point game -- I know we lost.  Any insights on the game?  What happened?

Too many turnovers and bad shots by Dan Tillema, same story as the last month.  I was very impressed with Ritchay's tenacity and Brezinski played very solid as well.  Time for Semling to get out on the recruiting trail.  It's baseball season now and I'll get my first look at the young Pointers at the Metrodome on Sunday.

It's very simple they didn't have Tyler Tillema and if they did the score would've been reversed.  It's too bad Point has had such bad luck the past two years with Dan Tillema not being able to go last year in the playoffs in what I believe would've been a national title.  I listened to the radio and it sounded like Brezinksi was able to lock down one big for Wesleyan but Point lacked another big to hold down their other big.  Great season for Point overall considering the circumstances of losing Harris and Johnston.  I just wonder how they would've done if they wouldn't have lost Tyler.  Probably would've won the regular season title and WIAC and hosted and had good chance to make elite 8.  They need to get size in a big way next year.

Well said, they definitely needed another big to go with Brezinski this year.  That was glaringly missing all season long.  Semling needs to get 2-3 bigs ready for next year, guard play certainly won't be the problem.  We have Kacala, Parlow, Van Handel and somewhat Forsythe for size returning...didn't get to see much of any of them this year...maybe a transfer big could come in??

The WW link to live stats is terrible.   Can't even see a box score yet of the St. Thomas game.  I'm listening on local radio but heard that the SP final was 69 to 61.  It's too bad that they had some injuries and wow, there's a lot of woman's teams in the tourney!  With the snow down here, it still sounds like a lot of people made it out to the game so that's good.  So far, WW starts out good.  20 to 16 at the moment.  If they win I might think about going to tomorrow's game.

GO HAWKS!

And of course the anouncer just said that ST thomas won in OT.  Davis already has 14 points w/ 8 minutes remaining.  NW is shooting very well.  Friendly rims at UWW as always.  I always loved screwing around and shooting on them.

Another issue Point had at the end of the year was Trevor Hass not playing to his potential.  He played really well at the beginning-middle of the season and just kind of fell off the map at the end.  Doesn't seem to fit in Semling's system in my opinion.  From what I seen throughout the year other than lacking enough big guys was the lack of guys that could create their own shot.  Tyler obviously is elite and basically set up Giordana and Hass on the 3 point line but those guys are spot shooters and can't really get their own shot.  I like Ryf but don't think he'll ever be more than a solid role player and was basically forced into playing PG for an elite D3 team when he wasn't ready.  I think Point was great this year considering they had obvious holes and probably would've finished about 22-6 or 23-5 with Tyler all year.  Pretty impressive considering this was one of the least talented overall tms they've had in several years with exception of Dan and Tyler.

Exactly right, Tyler basically set up everyone on the team for open looks all season long...without him, they are just a completely different team.  Hass did struggle mightily the second half of the season but I don't think it's that he doesn't fit Semling's system.  He is a shooter, and shooters can flourish in any system.  It comes down to, like you say, guys that can create their own shot and create shots for their teammates.  Tyler was that guy for Point and when he went down, nobody could fill his shoes and Point turned into a selfish ball club.  Dan forced way too many shots and forced drives to the hoop which caused turnovers.  If Tyler stays healthy and Point can find some bigs, next year I think will be a special team.

WW LEADS 46 TO 33 AT HALFTIME.  DAVIS ALREADY W/ 21 AND 3 THREES!!!!  Not getting ahead of myself but I'm streaming uwrf and should be at the uww game but I'm too old to be chilling w/ students :)  but I might have to go back for the first time since Kory Vernon was still there in the playoffs the last time we hosted a pod.  The students came through and really showed up.  The anouncer said that they are full and have the big heads of the players but it doesn't sound very loud or anything.  But then again it's WW.

Probably one of the better halves we've had in the playoffs.  Keep it up Hawks!

As far as Point goes, JB and Dan thank you for your efforts this year.  Remember BB doesn't define you!  Good luck in the future.  Next year's team is a wildcard because honestly we don't know what we have -- but let's see if our movement toward youth pays off.

WOW!  UWRF getting punked, down 18 with 10min to go at home to Edgewood.  While Edgewood is looking good, UWRF looks horrible.

Not sure RF could play any worse, totally disappointed in the effort
