Hey you Pointer guys...any word on VanHandel's status?  How long is he out for?  If he does come back...will he be a contributor?

I heard on the radio during the Oshkosh game that he is back practicing.  The announcers made it sound like as soon as he gets back into game shape that he should be in the rotation.  He was impressive during preseason practices before he got hurt, so I would expect him to get some minutes.  I don't want to speculate on how much he contributes until we see him in the lineup though.

Thanks for the update...hope to see him in the lineup soon!

He was in uniform, but I'm sure he's nowhere near game condition yet. He was moving kind of gingerly as well, as if still favoring the knee.

No need to apologize, 40.  Another good read, thanks for taking the time to put it together.

No. 2 ranked UW-Whitewater hosts No. 6 UW-Stevens Point tomorrow night in Whitewater.

Here's my game preview story pubished today on Voiceseyeonbasketball.blogspot.com
http://www.voiceseyeonbasketball.blogspot.com/2012/12/hawk-men-host-stevens-point-in-wiac-1st.html

This is an interesting and impressive stat:

The Warhawks will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak vs. the Pointers and 11 of the last 13 match-ups.

It's interesting how these streaks have gone.

Point has won 4 straight (including the sweep last year, in UWW's championship run). Whitewater had won the 3 before that (including the sweep in 09-10, Point's latest championship run).

Wow.  I would've never thought Point has won 11 of 13.

Actually, I don't think that's right.

Point has actually won the last 5.
Whitewater won the 3 previous to that

11-12 Point swept 2-0
10-11 Point swept 2-0
09-10 WW swept regular season, Point won in the WIAC tournament 1-2
08-09 Split 1-1
07-08 Split, WW won in the WIAC tournament 1-2
06-07 Point swept 2-0, Point won in the WIAC tournament 3-0
05-06 WW swept 0-2
04-05 Split, Point won in the WIAC tournament 2-1
03-04 Split 1-1

So Point has won 13 and lost 9 in the last 22 meetings.

I was actually in the process of looking that up, not that I didn't believe Voice, I just wanted to see how the results were.  I just went back to 06/07.  Prior to that season, it was 7-5, Point.

Remind me again why Oshkosh is playing Platteville Saturday instead of tonight... This has happened in the past too.
