I can't even imagine Harris and Tillema in backcourt together this year for point would've been pretty cool to see.

Or last year, with both Tillemas and Harris.  Point was VERY thin last year... only 3 guys off the bench and they were all freshmen. It would have allowed Tyler to go to the more-natural 2 guard position as opposed to the 1.

No doubt point would've won titles last year and this year IMO barring injury.

I meant national titles.  They beat whitewater twice last year and with jerrel would've clobbered them.  Personally I think this year with a healthy Tyler Tillema alone they would've had great chance at final 4 almost beat st Thomas on their home floor with a 50 percent Tillema in December.

Couldn't listen to or really actively follow the Point game tonight, but I did notice that Northwestern stated the game 6/7, including 4/4 from 3 en route to a 16-6NW lead with just 4 minutes gone. Point chipped away and forced about 10 NW turnovers in the first half while just turning it over 3 times themselves. Point turned up the D and held NW to 3/17 the rest of the first half.

Point went from down 16-6 to up 30-27 at the half and this was with going 0/12 from 3 in the first half. They finally hit one about 4 mins into the second half and the lead was up to 10 42-32.

The second half was owned by Jordan Giordana... He went off for 20 in the second, including 5/6 from 3. Great to see Points lone senior shine in what could be his last home game (though next weekend against Calvin will likely be at home too).

To assume a national title had it not been for injuries is a real disservice  to the team that did win and quite frankly, one of the dumbest comments I've read on here lately.

WARHAWKS: 58
Dubuque: 42

Dubuque scored the first basket and then the WARHAWKS made a 17-0 run holding the Spartans scoreless for seven plus minutes making the score 17-3.  Despite a four minute plus scoring drought of their own the WARHAWKS went into the locker room at halftime leading 29-18.    Quardell Young and Alex Merg led the WARHAWKS, who shot 48%, with 7 points apiece.  Dubuque was able to get within single digits a few times in the second half.  The first was around the fourteen minute mark, 34-26, however Eric Bryson buried a three pointer  to extend the lead back into double figures.  At the eleven minute mark the Spartans whittled the lead down to six, 39-33, but Young's layup and Bryson's jumper pushed it back to ten 43-33 with seven and half minutes remaining.  The last time Dubuque was within single digits, 45-38, with five and half minutes to play Bryson drilled a three-pointer which, after the Spartans missed a three, was followed by Darnell Harris's three pointer.  Harris added another three-pointer on the following possession and the lead eventually reached it's high point at the game's conclusion.

Young's 14 points and 4 assists were game highs.  Bryson added 13 points and a game high 9 rebounds.  Luke Knobles 3 steals were also a game high.  The WARHAWKS shot 49% for the game including 9 of 14 from beyond the arc.

Game sites for next Saturday's "Sweet 16" men's playoff games will be announced later today.  While North Central has a better season record and higher NCAA Regional Ranking it appears that UWW will be hosting next Saturday due to the fact that NCC is hosting the D3  National Indoor Track and Field Championships next weekend which will require NCC's basketball arena to be used as a staging location for events being run in the adjacent track and field arena.

NCC did put a bid in to host and that game could be held at Benedictine University! Approximately 2-3 miles from NCC.

Hosts this coming weekend: UW-Stevens Point - vs Calvin, St. Thomas, Virginia Wesleyan, Williams, Mary Hardin-Baylor, Whitworth, Alvernia, Rhode Island, Amherst, WPI, Wooster, Ohio Wesleyan, Wash, North Central- vs UWW, Rochester, Cortland State.

Beating Calvin will be a "tall" order for Point next weekend. Calvin starting lineup is 6'1"-6'3"-6'4"-6'8"-6'9" and their subs are 6'4"-6'5"-6'9" and 6'9".  Point counters that height with 6'8" Heuer (who hasn't shown the ability to really contend with like size players), 6'4" Richard (who has been playing better than Heuer) and rarely used subs Van Handel (6'8") and Patterson (6'6") who have played a total of 91 minutes for the season. Studer (6'7") is probably still doubtful at best. All this against a team that is in the top 25 of 9 of the 18 team stats tracked by the NCAA. Playing at home is a slight advantage for Point, but crowd noise is unlikely to bother Calvin since they regularly play in front of 2000 or more, especially when playing against Hope, where the number is easily over 3000.

Oh no, I've read plenty of him on the baseball board. I resisted the urge to call him out yet again, (because I feel like I've done it enough) but I was happy to back up stoutguy.
