He had a double-double (20-10) at the half and played sparingly in the second half.

Busy holiday schedule with many teams heading on the road or in the air.

Stevens Point, Platteville and Superior can charter a plane together as they all head out to Sin City. They all play NWC teams in a combination of Whitworth, Whitman and George Fox.

Whitewater and Stout head to Sunny Florida to play in Ft. Lauderdale and Dayton Beach, respectively.

Oshkosh and La Crosse get a short trip to Wisconsin Dells. Hey, at least there are INDOOR waterparks.

For River Falls' big holiday trip? A hop-skip-and-a-jump to equally cold amd snowbound Eau Claire for their holiday tourney with Northland and Northwestern (MN). Watch out, Northwestern just beat Superior!

Over the weekend I saw former Warhawk Darnell Harris who is now starting at JUCO power Northwest Florida State.  They are currently #4 in the country in D1 juco.  To be honest, I'm not sure how he was at Whitewater last year.  Without having seen him play last year, those that did, did his effort come and go during the year?  I'm guessing that to be the reason he only averaged 11 pts/gm.  He might be the best player on his current team (which includes 7'0" Stephen Hurt going to Kansas State and 6'11" Michael Chandler going to Oregon).  Middle Tennessee State is getting a good one in Darnell based on seeing him this weekend.

I would be curious to get badgerwarhawk's take on Darnell as you are in the loop in Whitewater.

I'm sure Harris looks much better in a JUCO environment where the game is typically played at a fast pace.  WIAC conference games are generally "grinders" with most of the offense taking place in a half court set.  Seeing Harris play twice live last year made it evident that he does not excel in a half court situation as he primarily likes to float on the perimeter and play off guard penetration.  The games I saw live were games that Young was kept under control and out of the lane and thus less help was given by Harris' defender.

He was our size, one of our leading scorers, our leading rebounder and an honorable mention all conference player as a freshman.  I'm not sure that he lived up to the hype that preceded him but obviously we wished he had stayed.  He had a bright future in our league.  As you've observed he's very athletic and long.  He was adjusting to the physicality of our league.  Middle Tennessee State is the level of D1 program I thought he'd probably end up at and I wish him the best of luck.

WW: 73
Lawrence: 56

We led by 9 at the half and Lawrence kept within single digits for the first 13 minutes or so of the second half.  Quardell Young's basket put us up 60-50 and ten points is as close as Lawrence would get the rest of the way.  Lawrence was held to just 6 points in the final eight minutes.

The box score isn't available yet but four ]WARHAWKS scored in double figures.  Bryson, Evans, Hearn and Young.

Augsburg is tomorrow.

Lawrence missed a lot of open shots--not characteristic--and got in foul trouble after getting within 6 under 8 minutes.  WW athletic and smart to milk clock in the last 6 minutes.

Boxscore is up.

Young 15 and 6 dimes
Evans  14 and 8 boards
Bryson 16 and 5 boards
Hearn 12 and 4 boards

Its promising that Souter and Egan played 20 and 12 minutes and Odegaard got 8. Bench is lacking in minutes and production.

Young and Bryson 37 minutes apiece.

Luther over RF 71-69. RF led 44-36 at half. Buckley, Berthene, White, Gresmer led scorers w/17, 12, 11, 11 respectively. Erickson had 9 pts., 8 rbds., 5 assists, 0 t.o.s at point guard. He will probably finish the season with the best assist to t.o. ratio in the league. Buckley, another freshman with Erickson, had his best game of the year.
