I think you have to have a certain number of posts before you can utilize the feature.

Seeing as AppletonRocks is just another name for a previously deposed poster, he certainly knows this.

Remember that this system has been here for seven years. That's a long time to accumulate pluses and minuses for regular posters.
Was going to reply to his post from earlier today, but see it has since been deleted....

Let's just say he can't even keep his lies straight now.  First it was a buddy that used to post, and now a family member.  Next it will be his kid!!! :o

Would you like me to post the obituary?  >:(

I went back to see who my brother had his disputes with before Mr. Coleman bounced him--and you were in the mix.  He really disliked Coach Van Dellen as he felt his recruiting effort was substandard.

Cubs--one more thing I picked up from the old posts--where are the fish biting?  On Poygan or are you up river?

So do I have this straight?  AppleRocks is Titan2000's brother and Titan2000 is dead?  If all of this is true it is really embarrassing to admit that I earlier suggested that we could liven up this board by including a guy who has died.  My apologies.

No offense, stoutguy.  It was an accident on both fronts.  :(  Long live T2K.  :)

Getting back to basketball...

I was at the La Crosse win over Whitewater.  It seemed to me that more than bad perimeter defense by Whitewater, we were smoking hot out there.  Remember, we are the best 3-point shooting team in the league, so we are hard to beat when we are really clicking.

I don't know why Tweed had so few minutes.  I think he nailed at least two threes.

The thing that surprised me was the number of offensive fouls called.  I believe there were about eight in the first half, but only one in the second.  I don't remember ever seeing that many.

I also have to mention Coach Miller's entertaining haranguing of the officials until he was T'd  up late in the first half.  After that, he calmed down.  Also, I don't recall a single travelling call.  Brian Carroll would have been indignant if he'd been there.   ;D

Chmarx - sure you were there?  Tweed had his first shot blocked then shot an airball from the left corner.  Played two minutes before leaving without scoring.  He got hurt in practice on Tuesday, probably shouldn't have played.

Eagles were really hot from behind the arc, but most of the makes were on uncontested shots.  Seemed to me that WW just wasn't into their guy on the catch.

Our perimeter defense has been an issue all season and against a team that shoots well from beyond the arc (i.e. Point, LaCrosse) it really smacks you in the face.  Nobody is going to shoot as well as these two teams have against us if they've got a defender in their face.  We just have to get better.

BW - good point.  I couldn't figure out why WW players were off of their man considering that the strength of LAX is shooting threes.  LAX wasn't beating defenders off the bounce, drawing help, and then kicking to the arc.

Anytime an LAX player went by their man (usually either Skogman or Schmidt), they were at the rim and finishing.

Greek - saw your All WIAC squad, we only differ by one.  Don't like Gerber, huh?

Not that anybody cares, but here's my take:

He runs the show for the 2nd place team in the league
He leads the league in assists, and assists to turnover ratio.  He's 14th in scoring, shooting 57% from 2, and 62% from 3.

He's fifth in minutes played - saw him play last Saturday and when he was off the floor, PV was dysfunctional on offense.  It should be noted he always takes on a tough perimeter player regardless of his opponent's size.

I'm partial to point guard play and without him, PV is not sitting at 6-2 at the half way point.

Greek Tragedy

In conference, 62% from 3? Yeah. But he's only 8 for 13 in 8 games.

He's 4th in scoring, on his team. He's 5th in rebounding, on his team.

Conference play only - another bucket and he's tied for 2nd on his squad in scoring.  He's the 2nd most indispensable guy on his team, that's why he's 5th in the entire league in minutes.  And as previously stated, I favor guys who play for winning teams as opposed to guys getting numbers on the lower division teams.

Yogi Ferrell from IU (first in Big 10 scoring), Terran Petteway from Nebraska (5th in scoring) - you think those guys are getting 1st team all Big Ten?  Not likely cause their teams are bad.

Besides, Gerber leads the league in dimes - the guy who did that last year was 1st team and he couldn't score or defend nearly as well as Gerber.

Greek Tragedy

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on Gerber. But to throw me a stat that he's 1st in 3-pointers in the league may be true, but when he makes just 1 a game, that's misleading. Erik Olson wasn't asked to score. Olson lead the league in assists, by a HUGE margin too. I'm not saying Gerber won't make 1st team, I just didn't have him in there.

All good Greek - knew you weren't hating on EG, that's not what these discussions are about.

In three or four weeks, we'll compare when the season is over.  I'm guessing we'll probably match or differ by one or two at most.

Trevor Haas exploded for 45 at LaCrosse.  Point went 10 for 13 from three in the second half and broke open a pretty close game (was 58-54 midway thru the second half)  to win 91 -72.  Haas' 45 sets a new school record for points in a single game.

Greek Tragedy

Has missed four 3s and only registered one rebound. He really needs to work on his game.  :P

FALCONS TIE WARHAWKS SECOND HALF!

But lose, 62-42. Evans 18, Bryson 15 (had 11 of first 15 or so) for WW. White has 14 for RF. WW dictated tempo with their quickness, speed first half. RF zone slowed game down second half. Sloppy game:  WW had 19 t.o's, RF 17. WW shoots 49%, RF 35%. Hawks out rebound Falcons 40-28.
