Can the transfers play immediately?

What ever happened to those Madison Memorial players that got busted for theft at the retail store?  I recall one of them was a D-1 recruit.

Yes

No clue

Whitewater will play Alma at The Palace, home of the Detroit Pistons.

Last time I was at the Palace a nice visiting player came up into the stands to say hello...

Are there any standards on when WIAC MBB rosters get published?  Do they wait until they start practicing to make sure the players actually show up?

Division 3 is for many schools tryout based. Many coaches cannot finalize the the roster yet.

Definitely have to wait - coaches also have to determine which freshman to grey shirt depending on roster make up.

AppletonRocks

Do the grey shirts practice with the team or are there some restrictions in that regard?

They can't practice with the team once the official roster is set and games are underway.   Actually they can't have any contact with the team or the staff.

Right. In the NCAA language there is no such thing as a gray shirt. They are officially a player who who has been cut. As an ordinary student they cannot receive coaching or guidance from the coaching staff.

Most schools that want to do this generally hand the kid a packet of off-season workout materials before the deadline and say "Hope you come back next season."

(and others probably cheat)

Just Bill is right - that's what happens at the school I'm familiar with (the providing of a program to work on during the actual season).

UWSP's roster is up.  No surprises, everyone is back with the 2 man recruiting class added.

My keys to having a good season for Point.  I think Ritchay needs to flourish as the number 1 scoring option.  He has a ton of ability but was always overshadowed by the big 3 last year.  Secondly, Gjertson and Freeborn need to be ready to play solid minutes as I think Point will need that added size throughout the season.

Ryf and Pelkofer may give Point the best defensive backcourt they have had in recent history, hopefully they can add some more offensive output to their games.  I'm looking forward to seeing if the freshman Zuiker sees his way into the rotation, he's talented enough too.

Does anyone know when their scrimmages are happening this year??  I went to the scrimmage at Point against Northern Michigan last season and would like to catch one this season.  Thanks in advance.

If a coach cannot have contact with general students, does this mean that in-season tryouts are "no-no's"?  There is a feel good story on the football boards about a Wesley manager who tried out as kicker a week or two ago, after two or three games were played. He is now their kicker. Or does "can't" simply mean they "can't" unless they want to see the current  year count against their eligibility?

He is also a current baseball player, so the guy is actually an athlete.
