Congratulations to the Pointers!  Very impressive run through the tournament.  Definitely played their best basketball at the end of the year.  Love how they play defense and together...only enjoy watching the Badgers more.  Would be nice to see Bo and UW join Point and bring home a national championship.

Quite an amazing weekend.  Never thought it would happen this year. Well, we did win in 2005 and 2010, so why not 2015? LOL :-). Stevens Point is now 8-0 in Salem! Congrats to Coach Semling and the Pointers. What a great TEAM.

I jokingly said that at the beginning of this season for 2015.

And here I thought the Pointers wouldn't be better than 3rd in the WIAC. Well, I guess that's more evidence I have no clue what I'm talking about! But really, when you look at this team, they don't jump off the page at you. It's just a case of a bunch of guys doing their job, playing smart basketball, and listening to a great coaching staff. Case-in-point of what can be achieved when you play good team ball. No superstars, just a group of really good players that play well together and within a great system.

Congrats! Hats off to you Pointers!

Nobody wants to win any worse than Ed Andrist.  Nobody prepares any better, recruits any harder, or loves his players any more than Ed does.

Could you imagine if Coach Semling prepared as well, recruited as hard, and loved his guys as much as Eddie! Sorry, couldn't let that go.

Just the stats

Congrats to the Pointers and the entire league, which seems to enjoy the trip to Virginia. The WIAC is now 17-1 all-time in Salem, with eight titles in nine trips.

Great accomplishment for pointers I'm also in the group that thought no better than 3rd and doubted they'd make the tournament.  Just goes to show that great coaching and hard nosed unselfish players can get it done.  I don't know there's been a pointer player in history that improved as much as ryf did in one year.  I'm curious about next year now and expectations with only pelkhofer coming back with a ton of experience.  Hopefully some of the freshman make huge strides and they can get a few big time recruits transfers.  Pelkhofer is a good building point I see him as potential all American next year.  Also just realized Mcgann will be back also so backcourt will be very solid.  Now they just need diamond stone to give up d1 scholarship and come to point.

Are there better d3 men's basketball fans then pointers have by the way?  I swear there are couples in their 80s and 90s that have been following past 60 years pretty amazing.  I realize whitewater football has quite the backing also but man does point travel well.
