Great accomplishment for pointers I'm also in the group that thought no better than 3rd and doubted they'd make the tournament.  Just goes to show that great coaching and hard nosed unselfish players can get it done.  I don't know there's been a pointer player in history that improved as much as ryf did in one year.  I'm curious about next year now and expectations with only pelkhofer coming back with a ton of experience.  Hopefully some of the freshman make huge strides and they can get a few big time recruits transfers.  Pelkhofer is a good building point I see him as potential all American next year.  Also just realized Mcgann will be back also so backcourt will be very solid. Now they just need diamond stone to give up d1 scholarship and come to point.

You do realize that his father was a WARHAWK right?

The rumor circulating in Madison this weekend was that Stone would like to be a BADGER but they are waiting to see what his ACT score is.

Didn't know that if he picks badgers and dekker stays I can't see them not being top 3 next year happ will be a stud and nigel is the man
GOTTA LOVE ACT 10

Dekker would be dumb to go pro, IMO. Ask Vander Blue how he's doing.

Vander Blue was NEVER projected to be a 1st round draft pick....  Dekker on the other hand is expected to go in the middle to late 1st round.  I hope he stays, but if he doesn't, it's hard to fault him!!!

One NBA draft projection I've seen has Kaminski going 17th and Dekker not at all.

I don't see Dekker as a ready for the NBA guy yet. Every time Kaminsky leaves the floor, I'm always waiting for Dekker to take that opportunity to assert himself, and become the number one scoring option, but that rarely seems to happen. He's great, but he still feels like he's too willing to defer when he could attack. I think playing without Kaminsky next year would help him.

Can you share the link?

As far as ones listing Dekker in first round:
http://www.nbadraft.net/2015mock_draft  (27th to Portland, Kaminsky 18th to OKC)

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/draft/mock-draft (Depending on guy, Dekker 20th, 25th, or 27th)

http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2015/ (23rd to San Antonio)

I stopped after those three sites, but five different guys did "mock" projections, and Dekker is listed on all five, going as high as 20th and as low as 27th.  I'm guessing since he is listed in 1st round on all five, that it's likely he will go in the 1st round if he chooses to declare early.  The Badger fan in me hopes that he follows Kaminsky's lead however!!!!

I'm sorry cubs but I don't have a link.  I'm not even sure I can remember where it was that I saw it.  I'll defer to you as you've obviously found numerous sites that project Dekker in the first round.  Personally I don't think he's quite ready and could use another year in college.  But I'm like you, a Badger homer, hoping he chooses to stay.  Regardless I'll just enjoy the ride however long it lasts.

Are there better d3 men's basketball fans then pointers have by the way?  I swear there are couples in their 80s and 90s that have been following past 60 years pretty amazing.  I realize whitewater football has quite the backing also but man does point travel well.

We had hoped to get to a game in Stevens Point on the way to the Northwoods the previous weekend but we did not make it.  We did, however, stop in Stevens Point for lunch and a visit to a city park on Saturday and there were people everywhere wearing UWSP t-shirts and sweatshirts.

Congratulations to the Pointers and everyone else involved in the program.

6'6" Madison Memorial Forward, Brett Tauber, turned down a scholarship offer from Bemidji State to commit to the National Champs this week.  I'm excited for this pickup as he's known for great post defense, physicality and rebounding.  Great start to what needs to be a recruiting class that includes a few impact guys with 4 senior starters leaving Stevens Point.

It will be an interesting summer. Usually after success, the phone starts ringing. Curious if Semling would have any desire to leave or if any D1 or D2 schools make a call.
