Ok, I must have been mistaken. I thought there was (or used to be) an intra-conference rule where you had to sit out a year if you transferred from one WIAC school to another. Maybe there was a stipulation where you didn't have to sit out if it was within your 1st two years of school. Or maybe I should just lay off the "good stuff". My apologies.  ???  ???

There is if you play TWO years at a WIAC school and then transfer to another WIAC school. But not if you play just one.

Schradle was also a Honorable Mention All-WIAC player as a sophomore during the 2014-2015 season.  That season he averaged 11.5 PPG and 6.7 RPG.

Bill, do you know if the sit out after two year rule can be waived if both coaching staffs agree to it?

Not that I'm aware of, but it's been a while since I've been close enough to know. Things could have changed.

From the WIAC handbook: Student-athletes who have been charged with fewer than two (2) seasons of participation are eligible immediately upon transferring to another conference institution provided they have met all other applicable transfer requirements. Any student-athlete who has been charged with two (2) or more seasons of participation (which may be nonconsecutive) at a single WIAC institution must establish a (one) year of residency (see 13.3.1) in order to be eligible to compete in that sport upon transferring from one conference institution to another.

It doesn't say anything about waivers.

Greek Tragedy

If there was a waiver, I would think it would have to involve more than the 2 coaches since the whole conference is effected. I'm guessing the decision to waive the rule for a player would have to be unanimous. But of course, there is no such waiver.

But a D1 or D2 transfer will always be eligible at Whitewater, if they have a name.  ;)

Stoughton 6'2" Guard Tommy McGlynn will play basketball at Oshkosh.

It's looking like the men's basketball conference will be adding TWO new teams to the '16-'17 schedule! La Crosse and Oshkosh have added so many new recruits that both will be able to field an additional varsity team. There will now be Oshkosh All Blacks and Oshkosh Yellowjackets (their colors are black and yellow), as well as La Crosse Maroons and La Crosse Grays (maroon and gray). An 18 game conference schedule will be fun!

It's apparent that the program was properly "punished" for the rules violations by having the fans suffer through their worst season in decades, showing that the extra practices didn't help.  ???  ;D  >:(  ;)  :P
