Believe it not, the 2016-17 basketball season is just days away. But the season can't start without Hoopsville hitting the air!

If i was a betting man and sometimes I am.

I take Norbert in a close one at Eau Claire
Stevens Point to beat Olaf.  Olaf lost a bunch
Crookston to beat stout by about 15
River to knock off St Thomas by 6
Platteville to beat Luther

Sloppy game, but Point leads 27-20. Solid defense by Point at times. Watching it online, but also doing other stuff.

Olaf currently on a 17-0 run

Well, that was ugly. Point loses 63-55. Good thing we'll get back on track against some cupcake teams this weekend in one of last year's semi-finalist and the ODAC champ.

River Falls over St Thomas 64 -75. Falcons led by 23 at half
and had to hang on down the stretch. Devin Buckley LED all scorers with 24 points.

Eau Claire upsets St. Norbert 68-67 after leading by 7 at half time.

The WIAC goes 4-1 with Platteville and Stout also winning.

Buckley actually had 29 including 6/8 threes and 7/7 ft. Erickson had 10 and did a great job on Schaefer, holding him to 8.

As previously mentioned, a disappointing start to the new season. When one guy takes a 3rd of the team's shots, you know there's something wrong. Aside from Bublitz, no one seemed to look for a shot, seemingly afraid to take a shot and miss. There were a few shots that should have gone in, bunnies, but there were few moments when "we took it to them." Semling has some things to work out and they need to be done quickly. We're looking at 0-3 by the end of the weekend if they don't get their act together.
