Greek Tragedy

I saw this earlier but I forgot to mention it. Point shot 56% for the game...and still lost. And, with a 6-point lead going into the 2nd half, they shot 59%! Point wss only 8-10 from the line while Platteville was 25 of 29.

Real disappointing loss by the Pointers tonight. They basically led the whole game as I skimmed the boxscore/play by play. I checked my live stats off and on and they had a 12 point lead with about 4 minutes to go in the half. They end up with a 6-point advantage at the break. After Platteville took a 1-point lead about 5 minutes into the 2nd half, Point built a 10-point lead only to be caught again. Point even had a 1-point lead with 1:28 left but a couple of turnovers cost them and they didn't score the rest of the way.

After nearly knocking off River Falls over the weekend, I was hoping for a better result tonight.

Surprised to see Whitewater hammer Oshkosh.

Point led by 10 with 10:41 to play and then proceeded to commit 11 fouls and turn the ball over 7 times. Shooting well for a change but made way too many poor passes.

RF over Lax 91/76. Herink, Pearson, Buckley, Witt w/ 23,22, 18, 10 respectively. Pearson had 10 rabbis.

Pearson was only five rabbis short of the all-time record!

P-ville played very good D for most of the game forcing turnovers.  Point shot lights out many times they got three's as the shot clock expired.  Points #4 Bublitz (sp??)  didn't hit a rim all night everything was nothing but net. Point fouled alot Platteville was in the bonus with 10-12 minutes left in the 2nd half and towards the end of the game they were forced to foul. Platteville played without Oesteich whose arm was in a sling and Showalter who was in street clothes with a noticeable limp.

All in good fun, Fred. I usually don't bother commenting upon typos and obvious spellcheck errors, but that one was just too good to pass up.

WARHAWKS (13-3, 2-3): 73
Oshkosh: 67

The WARHAWKS got off to a fast start when Scotty Tyler hit a three pointer and Demetrius Woodley scored in the paint staking them to a 5-0 lead.  The lead grew to a high of nineteen points 27-8 when Derek Rongstad scored at the midway point in the half.   The Titans would get no closer than twelve points after that and the lead held at least fifteen points over the last five minutes of the half which ended with the WARHAWKS ahead 40-25.  Chris Jones had 12 points and Tyler added 9 to lead the WARHAWKS who shot 59.3% as a team including 7 of 10 three pointers while holding the Titans to just 35.7%.    The Titans whittled the lead down to nine points 45-36 after five minutes of the second half though the WARHAWKS built it back to fifteen 55-40 over the next couple of minutes with points from Cole VanSchyndel (2), Andre Brown (3) and Woodley (5).  However the Titans rallied and reduced the deficit to single digits getting as close as five points twice the last of which with less than a minute remaining.

Tyler: 10 points, 10 rebounds
Woodley: 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals

After those first two it was all Jones all the time...he could not miss.

Considering that the in-game-updates site has not been used since 2015, WW leads Stout 31-22 w/1:30 to go first half. Jones has 18 pts. and has not missed a shot.

At that time most of the team was playing at some other college, either D1 Milwaukee or sundry JUCO's in various places.   :o  Zach Knoblach must have something wrong with him as he apparently came in right out of high school.
