Whitewater looked dominating tonight from what I was told and the game was never in doubt.  How can a team with that much talent ever lose and not win every game by 15 or more?  They are basically uw Milwaukee B

The play by play would contradict your statement of Whitewater being dominant and the game never being in doubt, but I wasn't there...and apparently, you weren't either.

Game was back and forth...biggest lead was 9 I believe and most of the game was spent within 4-5 points.  Never being in doubt is ridiculous and just another post where Shinetime shows his ignorance.

Whitewater did dominate the boards, not the game.  Point played the majority of the 2nd half without Bublitz, who statistically has been their best player.   He took a hard fall in the first half, walked off on his own power but looked like he was hurting.  Hopefully he will be back 100 percent by the weekend for the rematch against RF.

Please just STOP IT.  I was there.  Whoever told you that doesn't know what they are talking about and you're repeating it here makes you appear equally clueless.

Since we haven't annoyed the non-Pointer fans here in awhile, I was thinking about Point's situation again...

Not knowing until sometime after the season concludes for Point, like late April/early May, really kills any kind of recruiting for them this year. Will they be banned from the postseason for another year? Who will their coach be? Will anyone transfer? Will any players who verbally committed look elsewhere. It's a tough situation, for sure, and as Tommy Petty says, "The waiting is the hardest part."

Had the same thought.  I don't see how kids can verbally commit to UWSP not knowing who their coach will be or if they will have stiffer penalties as far as postseason bans go.  It seems like Point got commits later in the cycle normally anyways because they were always recruiting borderline scholarship kids who will wait it out to see what their options are.  That may play a little in their favor then but I wouldn't be expecting much more than a couple kids in this recruiting class until everything is sorted out.

As far as recruiting goes, this might be the best time for this punishment to be handed down.  Point will have 14 guys returning and possibly a 15th with whatever happens with Nate Dodge.  A small recruiting class was probably already in the cards.

Stevens Point (9-8, 3-4): 74
WARHAWKS (15-3, 4-3): 80

Balanced scoring and solid free throw shooting carried the WARHAWKS to their fourth straight conference victory.  Chris Jones' 22 points led four WARHAWKS in double figures and the team shot 54.9% from the floor and 87% from the free throw line.

The WARHAWKS opened the game with an 11-2 run and maintained a single digit lead for the first eight and half minutes until the Pointers rallied to a 15-15 tie.  Regaining the lead on their next possession the WARHAWKS held it for a couple more minutes before the Pointers tied and took their first lead 22-20 on a Bryce Williams jumper.  After the WARHAWKS regained the lead 24-23 the Pointers rallied again and took their largest lead of the half 28-24 with just over five and half minutes remaining.  After Drew Bryson's three point play and a jumper by Chris Jones the WARHAWKS made a 14-6 run to close out the half up by four 38-34.  Jones led the way with 8 points while Cole VanSchyndel added 7 and both Demetrius Woodley and Scotty Tyler chipped in with 6 apiece.  The WARHAWKS shot 57.1% in the half and outscored the Pointers 22-12 in the paint while the Pointers countered with a 22-9 advantage off the bench.  The WARHAWKS maintained a single digit lead as the two teams traded baskets in second half until the Pointers took a 49-48 lead seven minutes in.  Scotty Tyler's free throw tied the game and the WARHAWKS used a 9-2 run to go up 58-51 though the Pointers responded with an 11-2 run of their own to take their final lead in the game 62-60 with six and half minutes remaining.  Jones tied the game with a jumper and after a missed Pointer shot made a pair of free throws putting the WARHAWKS in the lead for good.  Derek Rongstad's 4-4 from the line paced the WARHAWKS who closed out the game hitting on 11 of 13 free throws.  There were 9 ties and 8 lead changes in the game suggesting there was some doubt in the outcome.

Jones: 22 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists
Woodley: 14 points, 12 rebounds
Bryson: 13 points, 7 rebounds
Tyler: 11 points, 4 rebounds
Rongstad: 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists
Team: 36-20 rebounds, 20-23 free throws

In spite of the future being in flux for the UWSP program, it's good to see that the Pointers are still playing hard and are still competitive. They seem to know instinctively that, in spite of the threat of sanctions hanging over their program, you don't have to live like a refugee. ;)

There is always the possibility that the UW-SP administration, with NCAA guidance, could say "don't come around here no more" to Coach Semling.  Unlikely, but possible.

I have not been on the board much lately, but my take on this ShineTime guy is that he is under all of your skin and is enjoying it.  Nobody could possibly be as stupid as some of these posts suggest.  At the risk of sounding like him, I was not at the Stout?/RF game but I will jump in with a comment about RF's chances of winning the conference.  A sure bet.  Talked to Coach Andrist and he felt that 3 game lead was a deal breaker.  Said RF is the real deal, said WW may still be playing the best right now with Jones running the show.  He was also frustrated with (and has complained officially about physical nature of RF players being allowed to be physical because they are so strong.)  Thought that RF should be rated #1 in country.
