Tough game. It was a battle on the inside and a battle by both teams. Throw out the records in the WIAC, there are no gimme's. Probably the one of the worst reffing performances I have seen for both teams. It looks like refs are going to allow a lot of grabbing, holding, physical play on the inside. Unfortunately, not as much for Falcon posts.  It will be another battle on Sat.

tomt4525--The Lax D was very good, and responsible for limiting Herink's looks.Nontheless, every other RF participant stepped up his game. I have not seen a game this season when only one RF player had a sub par performance. Usually it's two or more.
I am not alone among RF fans who thought RF played its best game. Several ex coaches in my coffee group agreed on that point this morning.

I did not say Coplin was THE major spark, only that he was A major spark. I wanted to credit him for a contribution which otherwise he would not get. I agree that Witt was "extremely clutch." He had the best game of his career. Up to this point, I have not been sure he would replace Pearson next year. Now I'm sure he will. If there is a sixth man award in the WIAC, he should get it.

The only team RF has had little trouble with was Stout on their court. They gave us t rouble most of the game at RF. There are usually no easy conference games in this league.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree there then.  RF is a very talented team, I've watched a few of their games including last night.  I did not come away from the game thinking RF played their best game, not even close.  Defensively, they were solid throughout the game.  Offensively, especially in the first half, I thought they missed quite a few bunnies...in fact, Herink missed a couple I thought were sure layups.

Schradle and Meinholz are La Crosse's go to guys.  They were both off their games, yes we can contribute some of that to good defense by RF...but RF also didn't get LX hitting on all cylinders either.

As always, that's my take...just didn't think it was a great game played by either team, it was entertaining though.

I'm rooting for Oshkosh just so the WIAC can get 3 teams in. The more upsets there are and the more I look at the numbers, it doesn't look good for Eau Claire.

AR--Stats show RF better than Oshkosh in 10 of 12 categories, not including overall record/WIAC standings. That does not mean RF will win. But your statement lacks statistical proof.

I said "I believe".  I hear Dave Mason singing. Good luck today.

River Falls survives and knocks out Oshkosh to win the WIAC tourney championship and the AQ. WIAC still has a slim chance to get 3 in with Eau Claire on the fence.

North Central knocked off Augie which is not going to help Pool C alignment in Central.  Calvin knocked off Hope. And Wooster knocked off Ohio Wesleyan.  It looks like the carnage continues as the night rolls on!

Wooster's win over Ohio Wesleyan was great for Pool C teams.  Wooster was a Pool C lock but now they don't need Pool C...while OWU is not very competitive for Pool C.

It was actually a good Saturday for Pool C bubble teams overall.

Oshkosh is a very dangerous team.

They are relatively young veterans and play 3-4 frosh with regularity, especially in the second half of the season, where the quality wins increased and the losses were fewer. Crushed Whitewater in the WIAC tourney at home and a week earlier at Whitewater in a closer game. Defeated River Falls at River Falls and lost the WIAC final by 1 in a "either way" game. Put Eau Claire away twice, since they keep coming up as an alternative.

I know, these aren't the supposed criteria.  I hope the committee rises above that.  ;)

Going to be tough. 10 L's is 10 L's.  We will find out a a short time. Good Luck today to all those WIAC bubble teams!

Oshkosh gets in. Travelling to Hope. Wash U and Ripon also there.

River Falls and Whitewater hosting.

Amazed that Eau Claire got jumped. 0-1 and losing in 1st round doesn't help. Oshkosh goes 2-1 and gets to the final. Augustana goes 1-2 (1-1 in the tourney) and makes the CCIW final.
