I was beginning to think the same thing about the 2017 National Champs Whitewater since they've only won ONE more NCAA tourney game in the last two years than Point has. I mean, if you aren't going to make a run in the NCAAs, why have a team?

Was waiting to see if Whitewater will pick up Jordan Hill.  ;)

I could easily do 5 1/2 hours to Fort Wayne, IN for the Final Four, even if Point wasn't in it. I just have to find a nearby indoor waterpark for the wife and kid to play in.

Obviously no offense to Salem, loved the experiences I had there, but this can be an easy 4-day weekend for the next four years. As a Midwesterner, I'm really excited about this.

I'm a bit disappointed with the size of the coliseum, 13,000. I assume the NCAA is hoping, being more centrally located in a bigger city, more locals and fans of teams will attend. Instead of Point, Hope, IWU or another well-supported midwest team bringing 1,500 fans, they can bring 2,500. I like tourney atmosphere when the gym is packed and loud. Even when Salem has 3,500 in a 5,000+ seat stadium, it kills the atmosphere a little. It will be interesting when there's 5,000 in a 13,000 seater.

There's Groupons, so I can probably get Swampgoon and his family to come. That makes 8.
