UWW's Zach Knobloch has transferred to IWU, where he will be a sophomore.  I checked his game-by-game stats on the UWW website, and have a question for anyone who knows: he started most of the non-con games and had highly decent stats.  Come the WIAC season, he barely saw the floor (c. 6 mins a game).  What happened?  (Beaten out by a better player? problems with the coach? nagging injuries?)

Rongstad may have been a factor but I don't think it was a significant one.  At this point in time Zach's game is as a spot up shooter.  Once the conference season starts that's a valuable skill but your game needs to be more diverse. WIAC defenses adjust to that and if you don't you're not going to going to get a lot of floor time.   His effectiveness dropped in league play and  the rest of his game hasn't developed enough that he could be effective. He has a lot of potential and I have little doubt that he'll develop into a very good player.  He just needed more time and experience.  I regret learning that he'll get that in another program.  He could have helped us down the line.  Personally I really liked him and wish him the best.

Not to take away your thunder, but that was posted months ago for Werdin and maybe a month ago for Greenlee.

UWSP sees their pairings for the D3 Hoops Classic in Vegas.  Point plays Wartburg and a 31-1 Whitman team that returns basically everyone.

I saw that earlier but forgot to post the pairings. I'm disappointed we're playing Wartburg since we've played them in the past on a semi-regular basis (at least I think we have). I would've liked to have seen OWU or Ramapo, but I guess I really can't complain much! I'm dreaming again about making the trip out there with my mother-in-law two hours away in St. George, UT. I have a big trip this summer, so financially, not sure if I'll be able to swing a holiday trip at the end of the year.

SP did play Ramapo in the 2010 Classic, at least. I'd have liked to have seen Ramapo play Whitman. I think Ramapo will regret not getting that game when selection time rolls around.

Are you implying Ramapo and the other teams had a choice of opponent to some extent?

I'd love to say we have sole discretion over the pairings, but sometimes teams' travel schedules preclude them from getting the games we'd like them to have. And also sometimes a coach will say, we don't want to play such-and-such.

Thunder?  Hardly, it's a message board for christ's sake....

I saw the tweets from Mark Miller on Friday and figured I would pass them along.  Since I don't have a vested interest in any particular WIAC basketball team (much less River Falls) I'm not surprised that I missed them.

Not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things....  :-\
