Not to pile on, but one other point.

Ad revenues are certainly important to us, but the revenue generated by any individual page is so tiny that it's hard for us to create monetarily beneficial "click bait," even if we wanted to. And those pages posted on the Daily Dose have no ads on them.

So, if we're trying to create more clicks to get more revenue, we're doing a really bad job at it.

Something people should also notice... items in the "blog" are op-eds usually (i.e. my Top 25 ballot posts) and items with the D3hoops.com framework are news or show related (i.e. Hoopsville). By posting in the blog, Pat is presenting an op-ed.

But, his blog would be more editorial than op-ed.

The op-ed would be a blog written by someone outside the D3Sports editorial board.

I am thankful that you give everything away for free, but would be on board with any other calls for support (e.g. patreon), advertising quizzes among other things that generate revenue.

Odd because the blog and Semling's interview are completely contradictory.  Obviously Semling has wishful thinking of not being punished anymore but d3hoops' view is whatever gets the most clicks on their site.  They sure seem to want UWSP to get the hammer thrown down.  You'd think that if they are just getting the info out they would talk about both sides, Semling and the NCAA.

I think it is safe to assume that Pat Coleman is more editor and columnist than reporter.  There is an important distinction.  And, you will see this when the D3Hoops reporters ultimately write again on the matter.  The blog reads like a column.  That is generally the norm with news blogs.

I'm a couple days late in responding but my view is my view, not whatever is click-bait worthy. This isn't Deadspin. :)

The only thing Pat missed is WAOW is based in Wausau, not Stevens Point! ;)

#facepalm. I should know better.

Yes, WUH and I talked about that. My point was that, in spite of the fact that Pat's blog was for the most part an editorial, it served a reportorial function as well, since it was where d3hoops.com announced that Bob Semling had broken his media silence, and it's where the site linked to Semling's WAOW interview. That's reporting, not editorializing.

(Mmm. Feels good to stretch my pedantry muscles in the off-season. ;-) )

Cole VanSchyndel earns spot on NABC Honors Court:

After coming to WHITEWATER as a football recruit (TE) VanSchyndel switched to basketball in his sophomore season.  I have to admit he's one of my all time favorites simply because he was a class act and I'm happy to see him honored for his academic achievements.

It's obvious the reason we haven't heard from the NCAA regarding more rules violations from Point and additional penalties is because there aren't anymore! You guys can now focus on D3 football and the NFL and even MLB while I focus on the Premiere League and Manchester United.  ;D  :P  :D

Been pretty quiet lately. Curious if anyone in the Stevens Point area has been able to get a sneak peak on any Pointer practices yet. I'm assuming they started early again.

River Falls, Platteville and Whitewater have come out with schedules recently.

River Falls
v Minn-Duluth
v Central
v Baldwin-Wallace at Wheaton IL
v DePauw or Wheaton IL
v Superior
v Hamline
v Carleton
v St. Thomas
@ Northwestern
v St. Olaf at Eau Claire

That game vs St. Olaf at Eau Claire is interesting because that's a Friday night. River Falls only has 24 games on their schedule, so I assume they are missing a Saturday game at the same Eau Claire tourney. But, the Eau Claire website says EC is playing Northwestern on Friday and Northland on Saturday.

Platteville
v Waldorf
v CMS
v Simpson
v Carleton at Colorado College
v Sarah Lawrence at CC
v Ill. Tech
v Silver Lake
v Hope
@ Coe
v Ripon at Wisconsin Dells
v St. Mary's (MN) at Wisconsin Dells

Whitewater
v CMS
v Waldorf
v Monmouth
v Anderson (IN)
v Caltech at Redlands
at Redlands
v Adrian at Trine
at Trine
v Beloit
v Finlandia
v Blackburn or St. Norbert

Carthage's schedule is not posted yet, but I think Carthage should be traveling to UWRF at some point.  The two played what I assumed was the first game of a home and home last year in Kenosha.
