6 games tomorrow and all through the house, not a basketball fan was stirring, not even a mouse...

Benedictine at Oshkosh: Benedictine is hardly what they were the last few years, but Oshkosh seems to be getting better. Benedictine is predicted to finish just 3rd in the weak NACC, so the Titans really shouldn't have any problems with them.

Bittersweet win for Stout men last night.  Played well in the home win against a much improved Crown team but our best player, Sr. John Keefe, went down early with what might be a season ending knee injury.  Very sad to watch his emotional reaction on the bench to the realization that it might be over for him. Makes you realize there is more to WIAC basketball than wins and losses.

Greek Tragedy

Tough game for the Pointers last night. Bublitz and Delmore can't get back fast enough. I don't think we'll see either of them this weekend. Point had some decent spurts and I think they actually led once. But, too many mental mistakes on defense and some poor choices on offense. Good to see the ball spread around with 5 guys attempting at least 7 shots. But the shooting was horrendous. Point would get the deficit to one or two possessions and then go cold, suddenly being down 7, 8 or 9 points in a blink of an eye. Lots of work to do.

Really sorry to hear about Keefe, stoutguy. But glad to see you are still posting, at least once per year. Surprised you said nothing about your good football team this Fall. Was in Menomonie for RF game in the rain, until half, that is.

Regarding not commenting about our good football team, I think it has something to do with the comment at the bottom of your posts.  Something about being the "oldest fan".  It is my experience as I have gotten older that most people don't give a rat's ass about what I think anymore.  I really feel that the sports world, and the real world generally, has developed a prejudice against us senior citizens.  We really are not that relevant anymore.  And the sad part is, I don't blame people for that prejudice.  All we ever talk about is which of us has the most medical issues and where are we going for our "Early bird special".

Sounds like Stout has some good news to share...

Looks like they've secured the first public commitment in the class of '18. I haven't seen any other announcements. As a matter of fact, I don't recall ever seeing an announcement before Thanksgiving before.

Usually there has to be a deposit and I thought there was a May 1 deadline to those things... that said, the rules especially in social media have changed or talked about being changed so often of late I have completely lost track.

It depends on admissions policy, right?  All the selective schools have their classes in place by Christmas for the most part.

So thanks to those who read... but don't write... on these boards... I was able to get clarification.

Stout is welcome to also announce the individual's acceptance/admission/what-have-you as long as that individual has signed an acceptance letter AND deposited his money. They can do that prior to May 1 of their senior year of high school.

However, it appears Stout went too far in one part: publicly communicate, "friend," tag, retweet, post to the SAs page/timeline, etc. (including SA's family) until AFTER May 1.

Like I said... it gets confusing, but here is a cheatsheet: http://ncaa.s3.amazonaws.com/files/regional_seminars/2015/d3/social-media-timing.pdf
