To be honest BadgerWarhawk, we could be like Whitewater and play at Albee Hall that only seats about 1,000  :o

Actually, I'm surprised you don't.  You might be able to fill it in a good year.

Best venue to watch a game in the WIAC is Johnson Fieldhouse at Stout, the second half of teh season last year that place would fill up for both games of an afternoon double header...downside there is that you walk halfway through the building to get to the visitors locker rooms. Not too far behind is Point, everything about playing at Point feels like you are playing big time basketball. I persopnally put Kolf near the bottom of the pack. The place is a cavern, the locker rooms are a mile and a half away...not a great place to play...if it filled up , maybe...but even a 1000 fans there would feel like 300-400 anyplace else

I agree with Stout as ONE of the best.  I was there a few years ago, and it was electric, even though the attendance number was not high.  It definitely felt like there were more fans!

Without a doubt the worst gym in the league is UWRF, its an average at best high school gym

Edgewood College, from the LMC, down in Madison, actually plays in a high school gym, from what I've heard.

That's only because Madison Edgewood HS is on the college campus and shares the gym which, when the roof leaked and it needed a new floor, was paid for by the college.   So, a more accurate statement would be to say Madison Edgewood HS plays on a college floor.

It's called the EdgeDome, or something like that, and looks like a large quanset hut.   From my own experience it can be a very tough gym to play in.  You can ask Platteville about that too.

The year the roof leaked and made the floor unplayable Edgewood did move their home games to Watertown Luther Prep HS and played in their gym.

In reply to a question a while back: RF, according to the coaches, has brought in next to nothing new in the way of recruits. They will have to rely on returning players.

Thanks for spamming the board.  Let us know, does Libby like D3 basketball?

Hey everyone.  My close family friend Libby is a finalist to become the regular anthem singer for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL.  Please follow the link and vote for her!

I didn't know the NHL still played.   Thanks for the heads up.

I took all the posts by ziggy down except the one on his home board, fyi -- but I'm amused by the responses here. :)

Do D3 basketball coaches get to have 2 hrs of instruction per week until practice starts like the D1 guys are getting right now???

haterinthehouse

D3 coaches are restricted to conditioning/weight lifting until the season officially begins.  There have been talks of adjusting the rule, however, D3 coaches cannot have basketball related sessions with their players

WIAC Board members--

I heard Bob Huggins was interested in the UWSP job and so Semling may only be interim.  He thought a brewery town had its upside and so he is stopping by after a visit to MSOE in Milwaukee, another beer town.

Anyone heard the same story ?
