Wow...great night for UWW hoops (men and women)! The men destroyed the Titans in Oshkosh in a top 10 bout, while the women hit a buzzer beater to upset the Titans in Whitewater. Well done 'Hawks!!!!

RF over WW 81-80 on last second bucket by Witt who scored 30. Herink had 11. Several WW players in double figures. WW shot over 50%, Falcons 47%. Glaring stat difference in rebounds:  40-27 in favor of RF. Both teams played very well.

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

Checking out the play by play. Whitewater was up 76-66 with 5:30 to play, still up 6 with about 2:30 to play. Sachs made the 2nd of two FTs with 2:43 to play to give Whitewater a 80-74 lead. The Warhawks would not score again. Wow.

Point also hangs on and wins at Stout 68-65.

Platteville is off to a 12-1 start the best since the 1998-99 season which was their last National Championship team. Are they contenders or pretenders their next 5 games is like a murders row of the WIAC

Yeah, it's early for sure, but Platteville and Point are atop the WIAC standings. Platteville, last in the WIAC last season and Point, with the worst nonconference record this season. That's a killer schedule. Now, is that a murder's row or a murderer's row?

Point has La Crosse and Eau Claire, and then Whitewater, Platteville and Oshkosh. I may be at that Eau Claire game at Quandt next weekend.

A few days later and UWRF hits a couple of W's with last second shots. WIAC! You never know what your going to get, but typically a battle!

Interesting. Hawks jump RF in the polls this week despite just losing to them. I guess that blowout win in Oshkosh seemed to offset the RF loss, along with RF's big loss to Point last week.

Meaningless.  Win WIAC, meaningful.

Well, that makes sense. WW lost at home by just one to a higher ranked opponent and also won on the road at a highly ranked opponent. I would think that would always trumps winning on the road against a highly ranked opponent and being blown out at home to an unranked foe.

None of the ranked conference teams play each other tomorrow.

Agreed, but it's still interesting to look at each week.

There should be an interesting dynamic tomorrow night in Quandt gym for the return of Coach Kent Dernbach to UWSP for the first time since taking the interim job at UWL. Coach Kent Dernbach, Coach Bob Semling, all the UWSP players (minus the freshman probably), the UWSP fans, and possibly even some of the UWL players have got to be feeling like this isn't just a regular game. We all know there is a lot of excitement, anticipation, and many other emotions surrounding that game, and I'm sure a lot of pride on the line for both teams and coaches. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

If and when will the NCAA put the hammer down on the Pointers?  Seems like this is taking forever.

The case continues and is at a stage that sometimes takes longer than even the parties involved would like it to take. Nothing the "NCAA" can do about it right now. The Division III Committee on Infractions has not even been given the final case as best I can tell. Sadly, this may take quite a bit more time from what I have been able to determine.

I must admit, I don't follow WIAC hoops as close as football. But is this in reference to the allegations they faced this time last year? Or has there been something new since then?

Same case. It has been going on for almost 2 1/2 years? Not sure the exact time line, but it has at least been public for 18 months. A year ago UWSP came down with their second set of self-imposed punishments. We expected it to be complete by the end of last spring. Unfortunately, it continues.
