Well, who would have thought that Point would be the lone undefeated 1st place team 4 games in? I'm absolutely shocked but cautiously optimistic.

Whitewater this week, so we'll see where Point is at Wednesday night. Point beat River Falls and beat Stout and Eau Claire by single digits. Whitewater topped the latter two by double digits, but lost at home to River Falls (though it was by only 1 point). A trip to Southeast Wisconsin is always daunting, so if I assume they'll get blown out (like I did to the trip to River Falls), maybe, just maybe, I'll see another Point upset come 9 pm Wednesday. For the record, I don't listen to games on the radio, too stressful. It was stressful enough watching the last 5 minutes of Wednesday's game online.

Is Semling coaching to save  his job? Will the NCAA use the death penalty, allowing alll the UWSP players to transfer to Finlandia?

Against Stout the game had multiple ties and lead changes for the first eleven minutes with neither team leading by more than four points.  With the score tied 18-18 Andre Brown hit a trey giving the WARHAWKS a lead they wouldn't surrender.  The lead reached a high of ten points 30-20 with about five minutes remaining before Stout closed the half with a 7-2 run to trail 32-27.  Brown led the way with 11 points and Riley Jensen chipped in with eight which included three monster dunks.  The WARHAWKS built the lead to a high of sixteen in the second half.  Stout closed to within eight with a little over three minutes remaining but could get no closer the rest of the way.  Brown finished with 20 points and added 3 steals.  Dalton Menke added 11 points and David Sachs chipped in with 10 points adding 5 assists.  Nineteen Blue Devil turnovers included 10 steals by WARHAWKS with Brown and Pfieffer getting 3 apiece and led to a 26-9 scoring advantage.  Issac Elliott led all scorers with 24 points.  Joe Duty added 10.

Man, you stick Charlie Chaplin and Stevie Wonder in a room  and there's more conversation than in here.

Big games tonight...if anyone cares. ???

Point takes their perfect conference record (uh??) into Whitewater (3-1) with dreams of knocking off the #2 ranked Warhawks. In the other big game, Oshkosh and Platteville butt heads in a match up of the other two 3-1 conference teams.

I'd post more but I have to get back to watching my 92-year old neighbor water his grass in the snow, that guy across the street paint his fence with gloves on and my kid chew on his toenails through his socks...

I agree, this board is beyond dead.  I used to post thoughts after most every game but it started to feel like it went on deaf ears.  I've pretty much stuck to relaying recruiting news as of late.

Greek Tragedy

Not deaf ears, mute mouths. There are plenty of lurkers. I've had people come up to me and say hi, not only at Pointer games, but also the Final Four, knowing me from my posts but I have no idea who they are. I guess it's nice to hear, "I read your posts all the time." So, my apologies to those people because, well, when you talk to yourself, that gets boring sooner or later too.

UWSP has not beaten Whitewater in the last 2 years. In other words, nobody in that locker room tonight for UWSP will have ever been on a team that has beaten Whitewater. So not only is this a big game in the conference race, but this would also get rid of a mental hurdle for that Pointer team. The same scenario had been true for UWSP against UWRF before they beat them earlier this season. It will be interesting to see how confident the team looks tonight in a tough environment where they haven't won yet.

Also, can't help but think about how this team would be if Bublitz was able to be on the court with them this season. Kid was no question one of the top players in the conference.

Nobody in that locker room besides Coach Semling that is!!

The ability to put your foot in your mouth.  I was once able to literally do that.  Now I'm stuck with doing it figuratively.....sigh

Oshkosh and Platteville is certainly an exciting one tonight as it looks like Jeff Gard has the Pioneers playing solid basketball. Unfortunately for Platteville, I'm not sure they have the fire power to beat Oshkosh...couldn't beat RF despite leading big at halftime on the road and squeaked it out at home vs Lax. This one might get away from them (even though their 13-2 record against 10 of the worst teams in the country says otherwise).

Semling can't last and this game vs the Warhawks is going to be one step closer to the end...what is the deal with the NCAA and SP (I know its a conversation that has gone on for a long time but certainly someone has some info!)?

First post, I'll keep it short...look forward to many more.

A HUGE exaggeration.... :D...based on NCAA stats they come in at #132 in the country, I think it can be agreed that the non-conference schedule wasn't great, but you can decide who I'm talking about!  ;)

Those who have the info aren't allowed to talk about it. DIII (NCAA by in large) by-laws are pretty strict when it comes to discussing an on-going case.

We all wait and see.
