QuoteOff the top of my head, I'll just guess the NESCAC.

Good guess! It last happened on Week 5 of last year: Amherst (3), Tufts (8), Wesleyan (9), Middlebury (22) and Williams (25).

Point jumps in despite a double digit loss in Oshkosh.

Point actually dropped points, if I'm not mistaken.  It's just that some other schools dropped more.

Point had 45 votes and was #26 last week. Marietta was #25 with 54 votes. Platteville was #27 with 31 votes.

Platteville jumps to #20 with 198 votes. Point jumps into the Top 25 with...29 votes.

Good team work, you guys! LOL  :P ;D :D :)

Another week where Point has a chance to prove they are legit and now prove they are worthy of a Top 25 spot. Great opportunity with Whitewater and River Falls coming to town.

UWSP gets their first regular season sweep of UWW since the 2012-13 season

Greek Tragedy

Point beats Whitewater, but it was at home, so that doesn't prove anything. Still kind of a fluke. They are winning a lot of close games, so those could have easily been losses. Probably the worse 8-1 conference team ever... ::) ::) :-X :o ??? :-* :-\

I finally believe that Platt and UWSP are the two best teams in this league, a cut above the next three. Definitely not what we were expecting, but the results speak for themselves.

The standings would agree with you and I hope you're right but this league is so evenly matched that a 6th seed in the conference tournament could conceivably win and get the AQ and leave a good regular season team on the outside looking in.

Falcons again prove capable of huge comebacks. Earlier, a 21 point reversal vs. Pville and tonite a 17 point half time comeback vs. Lax. RF 77-74 in o.t. Lax led 38-21 at half.

Bruchs, Skoyen, Meinholz led Eagles w/14, 12, 11. Seifert 20, Herink 17, Witt 19 led Falcons. Freshman Ross Ingersoll started second half and made 5 quick points to get the rally startred.

Oshkosh shot 2/21 from 3 and last minute several obvious fouls went uncalled.  Tough to say who is better.  One thing is for sure, that ref crew took the pace of the game to a snails pace. Called all kinds of ticks and tacks both ways. Don't let these guys ref any key games in the tourney. The 5'8" guard for PV carried them. Also a flopper.  Mixed feelings walking out of Kolf.  Have to beat them in the WIAC tourney.

And they were down 62-48 with only 6:45 to go. Impressive comeback for the Falcons.

I see Quentin Shields, Pville freshman, came off the bench to score 17 of his 19 points in the second half. There is no better freshman in the league. He looked very good at RF also.

He had 15 off the bench against us.  He's pretty quick and his penetration into the lane gave us some problems.  He ended with four assists which he got feeding inside when he'd beaten his defender forcing another defender to step up and stop him.  Platteville shot well against us overall but it was bolstered by a bunch of shots in the lane and at the basket.  Shields did more than his fair share of creating that.

He certainly looks to be a good get for Gard and the Pioneers.
