I talked with Jake Voelz the other day and he was still undecided, but leaning between RF and Eau Claire.  Very nice guy, hard worker and well-liked by his teammates and coaches.

Jake would sure get a chance to play right away at RF.  Regarding EC, it seems to me that Terry already has a whole bunch of Jake Voeltz's.  Seems to me he needs to go after some other kids from some other areas if he wants to get his program going in the right direction.

i don't know this guy at all.  but i pray for his sake he goes to a team in river falls that has a chance to turn things around.  EC will be a bottom dweller as long as Gibbons is there

SPRING THOUGHTS......

Who are the main recruits for 2006/2007?

Does TVD at Oshkosh doing any recruiting while the walleyes and white bass are running?

Will Miller replace Jahnke?

Is everybody staying on the team?

Anyone at risk with grade issues?

Will we be ranked #2 ever again ?

Are the games all being moved to Albee Hall so the stands are near capacity?

Does anyone care?

In what?

I would assume he means the Oshkosh pre-season men's bball poll status - one of the very few really bad picks your poll has ever made!

Pat Coleman

Thanks, but I wanted to hear his answer. I figure there are several possibilities:

No. 2 in the West Region
No. 2 among Wisconsin Division III schools
No. 2 in the WIAC
No. 2 in Winnebago County (if we can find a second D-III school in the county)
No. 2 among basketball programs at UW-Oshkosh

I am aware of where they were picked last year, duh. I assumed that he couldn't POSSIBLY mean No. 2 nationally, since there is little chance of that happening short of Oshkosh making the national title game and losing.

Pat appears even more sensitive about his preseason poll than I thought.

Good thing I didn't bring up that Lawrence University wasn't in the Top 25.

Do UW-O and Lawrence play again this year ?

Nah, actually, I'm not sensitive about it. We couldn't help Oshkosh failing to come even close to expectations.

I just figured you have such a quick wit that you might have some snappier answer. Guess not.

Pat:

After keeping the board alive for a week by starting the Waffle House dialogue over at MWC, I'd think you'd be nicer to me that that.

Hey T2K,

Stout hosts Lawrence in baseball on Tuesday afternoon.

C'mon up!  ;)

BDB:

Thanks for the thought but I need to be in Chicago for work.  Hope the games are good.

How is stout looking this year--will they be able to stop Lechnir's Oshkosh juggernaut?

I can sort of answer these questions by giving one player the Titans have for their 2006/07 recruiting class.  TVD was able to snatch Weyauwega Fremont G Bryce Welch away from a full scholarship at D2 Minnesota-Duluth and WIAC foe Stevens Point.  Anyone from the Fox Valley area is sure to know that he is quite the scorer, and was named to a few of the All State Teams.

Definitely a nice pick-up for UWO.

Scott Trost was named new head bb coach at Lewis University so no Dick Bennett there but the St. Norbert's position is still open from what I hear.

I believe you meant to say Jack Bennett.
