I'm not really sure what to think about Whitewater. While Oshkosh hammered both Michigan teams, Whitewater struggled and really should've lost last night.

Just keeping ya' guessing so we can spring the big surprise on January 2nd!

It's the unofficial WIAC/MIAA Challenge?

Friday
Alma at Oshkosh
Calvin at Whitewater

Stout at Crown

Saturday
Calvin at Oshkosh
Alma at Whitewater
Stevens Point at Hope

Buena Vista at La Crosse
Viterbo at River Falls
Central at Platteville

Sunday
Wartburg at La Crosse

Let's shoot for 8-2.

After the WIAC's 2-1 Friday, we go 6-1 on Saturday and Sunday with the V-Hawks topping the Falcons as the only blemish those days.

I think we're at 42-16 now.

Eau Claire takes a dump and loses to Carleton at home, 79-74. Credit Carleton's coach for getting them back on track considering they just lost to St. Thomas by 49 over the weekend. The Knights shot 59.2%

Alas for Platteville, other Wheaton players added another 45 points.  Francis may well be the early front-runner for national POY, but contrary to the (self-defeating chant - just fired him up!) by UWP fans, he was not a "one-man team"! ;D

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

We've entered the part of the season when teams are either off the court for an extended period of time or they are still practicing and playing occasional games leading up to a break around Christmas. It is an odd time of the season. You look away one night and forget there is a big game happening. You try and focus in another night only to realize there isn't much to watch (if anything).

Some schools are still wrapping up finals as well!

These few weeks can also be challenging to teams. Staying fresh even though there could be up to a month between games. Staying focused, even though academics are a much higher priority that what's happening on the court. And staying healthy despite travel to different parts of the country or back home to be with family.

Thursday night on Hoopsville, Dave tries to work his way through the distractions to talk to a few teams all of which still have games this December and seem to be off to pretty good starts. We'll even hear from a student-athlete's perspective. How are finals, the holidays, and travel affecting these programs?

Hoopsville is presented by D3hoops.com and airs from the WBCA/NABC Studio. Thursday's episode will air live starting at 7:00 pm ET right here: http://bit.ly/2rA87rl (and via Facebook Live simulcast).

Where were we? Rough weekend for the WIAC. We now sit at 48-21.

Light schedule before Christmas break.

December 18:
St. Norbert at Oshkosh - The Green Knights aren't what they used to be. Oshkosh is on a roll right now. Titans easily.

December 21:
Whitewater at Loras - The Duhawks had a lot of preseason hype and topped Augustana. Huge test for the Warhawks. Shootout going the WIAC's way, because I'm a WIAC homer.

Northland at Stout - The Blue Devils squeak by.

December 22:
La Crosse at Carroll - This will be a tough out for the Eagles. I'll take the Pioneers by single digits.

Thanks for the reveal tomt4525. When I looked up his stats for this season thru 6 games they were 23 ppg, 9.5 rebounds. But I really hesitate to talk about such an early commitment.
