Appleton West Guard, Will Mahoney, will continue his basketball career at Oshkosh.  Another huge get for the Titans.

Unfortunately, the Pointers haven't shown they can hang with the Titans, but as Greg Sager likes to say, "It's really hard to beat an opponent 3 times in one season!"

La Crosse takes on Platteville for a spot in the WIAC final on Saturday.

Point definitely hung with Oshy the last time out... Just couldn't seal the deal.

Alright, I'll give them that. They definitely hung with them, ironically, moreso at Oshkosh than at home. I suppose that gives the pessimist a little hope. What also gives me a little hope is that a lot of other teams have lost since the last regional rankings, as has Point. With that end-of-season loss at Platteville, I still don't think they have a prayer of getting a Pool C bid, but the door is cracked open, just slightly.

Greek Tragedy

Do or die tonight.

Based on Regional Rankings

#1 Augustana v #7 IWU tomorrow in CCIW semis
#2 Oshkosh v #6 Stevens Point in WIAC semis
#3 Wheaton v #4 NCC tomorrow in CCIW semis
#5 La Crosse v Platteville in WIAC semis

Looks like Point and La Crosse need to make the Final. That's the only (very slim) chance the WIAC gets 3 in. If La Crosse loses in the Final, that may be enough for them to jump one of Wheaton and NCC. Based on these standings, Point's too far down the pecking order to get a Pool C bid. Obviously depending on other results, Point may make it to the table, adding a win over Oshkosh and another result against a RRO (La Crosse).

La Crosse and NCC are in the same boat as they both got byes into the semis while Wheaton and Point both got quarterfinal wins under their belts.

Point not playing a 25th game really hurts their winning % (assuming they would've won that nc game).

Well, that was unexpected. Point shocks Oshkosh AND Platteville knocks off La Crosse. Point at Platteville on Saturday. Wow.

HIGHLY unexpected!  I'll guess that the WIAC is now a two-team league.  Oshkosh is a lock, but I'm not sure either LaX or UWSP can get a C (IF UWSP needs a C).

Teams which play in the first round are 6-16 against teams that received the first round bye.  This is first time since the inception of the six team format (2009) that those teams are 2-0.

I could envision the upset, but the "highly unexpected" part to me was just how dominant UWSP was in that game. UWO didn't have anybody who could get it going at all, apart from Boots.
