My call right now is that Fravert is doing too much.  Oshkosh has been good the last few years because they were well rounded.  The guys replacing the graduates aren't as good as the guys who left, but you still have to let them play and try to fill those shoes - grow into it.  Fravert is really, really good, but I don't think they're better with one guy doing everything than they'd be working the new guys in better.

Interesting scores.

After losing to Alma, Oshkosh takes out their frustrations on Calvin by trouncing them by 39. Whitewater who was hammered by Calvin squeaks by Alma.

Point tops Hope to improve to 6-0.

Equan Ards is destroying, for the most part, Whitewater's non-conference opponents. I'm still not sure if that's going to translate in the WIAC. My hunch is that it won't and that's no offense to Ards.

WARHAWKS split in Michigan losing Friday night to Calvin 81-66 and snapping a four game losing streak on Saturday with a 70-66 win over Alma.  Ards had 23, Bailey 15 and Chislom 10 in the Calvin loss.  The team went 0-12 from beyond the arc.  Calvin got all 81 points from their starters.   On Saturday Ards scored 27 and had 7 rebounds.  Bailey added 10 points, 7  rebounds and 4 assists.  While Chislom chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds.

Chislom is going to be a good player for us.  He needs to get stronger but he's got the tools.  I think we'll be hearing from him quite a bit in the future.

Ards will be on the WIAC all conference team when the season is over.

Point's offensive inconsistencies have definitely finally caught up to them, along with their inability to defend a back cut.  Bethel taking it to them 55-42 with 4 minutes left.

1-19 from 3 point land is also brutal.

Point got pretty well embarrassed on their home floor last night. They found out a lesson Oshkosh has learn early this season. When you don't shoot well in the first half with a team still learning to play together and dig yourself a hole, it's hard to regain your shooting legs in the same game and make a comeback. The difference is, Point didn't keep it close and didn't make any second half runs. Only five players scored. They are not going to win games when Knez and Koerner basically don't show up.  Bethel played well and were very balanced. A team to keep an eye on in MIAC.

Then Semling has the audacity to go on the post game radio show and call out the home WIAC officials for not getting them calls, particularly in the first half.

I'm intrigued with some of the games coming up Saturday. Can Bethel play as well as they did on Wednesday in Point, against Platteville at home? Is Platteville as good as their record and ranking? They way the Royals played Wednesday, I think this will a good test for Pioneers on the road.

Can Point bounce back after their awful game Wednesday, this time on the road in Ripon, a team that just took La Crosse to the wire at Mitchell Hall.

And can Eau Claire go on the road across the state and get a good win at St. Norbert? Their best win to date has been Whitworth on a neutral floor.

A good chance to catch a stream of all three of these games on Saturday as they all start at different times.

Good work Paul. +1

I was thinking the same things. Ripon isn't bad at all, from what I gather. Same thoughts on Platteville and EC, so I won't repeat it.

Platteville pretty much controlled Bethel from start to finish. Point started slow, had a strong middle, and coasted to a win in Ripon. Rabedeaux having a great game is definitely a key for having the Blugolds win again this year. It just feels like the Blugolds will go as Rabedeaux goes.

Oshkosh, idle, picks up a big win by North Central over Elmhurst. Oshkosh comes off the finals break and plays at St. Norbert on Tuesday.
