Platteville makes up for an earlier loss at RF on senior night at Bo Ryan Court. The Pioneers scored both inside and from 3 for a 94-54 win. Platteville finishes  on the road at EC on Wednesday and SP on Saturday. I'm not an expert on D3 bracektology but I believe somebody other than Platteville will have to win the WIAC Tournament for the WIAC to get 2 teams  in the D3 NCAA tournament.

1. Platteville - 0.842 W% - 0.566 SOS
2. Wash U - 0.800 - 0.565
3. Benedictine - 0.857 - 0.493
4. SNC - 0.857 - 0.536
5. Eau Claire - 0.714 - 0.580
6. NCC - 0.810 - 0.523
7. Augustana - 0.727 - 0.578
8. Elmhurst - 0.818 - 0.526

----------------------------------

La Crosse - 0.762 - 0.530
Oshkosh - 0.619 - 0.618
Stevens Point - 0.667 - 0.603
IWU - 0.667 - 0.557
Wheaton IL - 0.619 - 0.546

A little surprised to see Eau Claire 15-6, 6-4 in there instead of La Crosse 16-5, 5-5. La Crosse did beat Eau Claire. *Edit - I do suppose there's a pretty big difference in the SOS.

No Point or Oshkosh, so they have a lot of work to do in the next three weeks...maybe too much work.

I think Eau Claire has a shot at Pool C. Benedictine lost this week. Eau Claire could jump them. Also, you normally have the 1st place teams as AQ, so SNC (MWC) and Benedictine (NACC) would be Pool A, along with NCC (CCIW), Wash U (UAA) really making Eau Claire one of the first teams at the "table" for Pool C consideration. They have two tough games left, Platteville and La Crosse. And obviously if Platteville loses in the tournament, they'll be one of the first teams picked for Pool C, thus giving the WIAC three teams (if Platteville and Eau Claire get Pool C) and someone like Oshkosh grabs the AQ.

GT,
Upon further review I can see your reasoning for EC.  Their 2 non-conference loses were to Washington U who is 2nd ranked in the Central and in 2nd place in their conference.  Their other loss was to St. Noberts who is 4th ranked in the Central and atop the MWC. They also have a quality non-conference win over Whitworth who is in 1st place in the NWC and ranked 4th in the West. But they have a terrible loss to Stout to figure in. A win over LaX or Platteville and a good run in the WIAC Tournament would help. It would be nice to see EC in they might get matched up with St.Thomas or St. Johns from Minnesota. But remember I'm not a  expert in d3 Bracketology.

I wonder if La Crosse and Oshkosh will jump Augustana and Elmhurst. Stevens Point had a great chance to jump into the rankings with two home games against other Pool C contenders and they lost both.

Wow that last hour of Hoopsville last night was amazing. Riveting conversation and I was glued to every comment. The higher SOS/lower WP/many RRO games versus lower SOS/higher WP/fewer RRO games debate is fascinating. Dave and Bob have their different opinions and both gave good arguments. I'm already looking forward to the next two Sunday's.

This weeks Regional Rankings is so key cases for Eau Claire, La Crosse, and Oshkosh. Especially Oshkosh. If they are not seen this week, they may never been seen. They aren't going to any more RRO's from this week to next week. I'm not sure a hypothetical improvement of .028 WP is going to make much difference.

Agustana wins are big for both the La Crosse and Oshkosh resume's. If Augstana isn't there in the end, that's a big blow. Both teams 2-0 against UWSP is just not going to come into play. If La Crosse and Oshkosh both come in and get ranked and stay ranked, that is a huge boost for Oshkosh.

Now this week in the WIAC. Assuming the Titans can hold off the Warhawks on Wednesday, the good news in WIAC terms for Oshkosh is someone has to lose the Platteville/Eau Claire game Wednesday. The bad news in NCAA terms for Oshkosh is someone has to lose.

If Eau Claire can pull a big upset Wednesday, then Saturday's Eau Claire/La Crosse game becomes so key for everyone. And top it off, it would not shock me if River Falls won a game this week, which would end the Pool C hopes of La Crosse and Oshkosh.

Greek Tragedy

I really don't see Oshkosh getting a Pool C bid. Best case scenario is for Eau Claire to sweep the week. Platteville seems pretty safe as a Pool C. Eau Claire loses to Oshkosh in the WIAC tournament final, Three WIAC teams in the NCAAs.

I expected Stout to beat Point next year...might as well get it started earlier.

'95 Blugold

Pioneers up 35-28 over the Blugolds at half. Blugolds started out hot from the field and took an early 11-2 lead, but Plattville came back and took the lead towards the end of the half and extended it. Good game so far.

tomt4525

Point down 39-22 at half to Stout...their effort is embarrassing.
