I don't care if they're from Timbuktu.  :D We need players. A lot of players.

They don't just need players, they need GOOD players.  From the junior year videos I could find on this guy, he has a long ways to go.  Hopefully, his senior year he already showed a lot of improvement.

Northland Pines 6'1" G, Ryan Peterson, will continue his basketball career at UWSP.

Yeah. His numbers didn't jump out, offensively, but he had a good rebounding average. Maybe he doesn't need to score, let the others score. The fact that there are commitments this early for Point is a good sign.

I believe they take one person from each region for each team.

That has been the way of things.  We heard rumor they might make two players from each region eligible for the First Team, but that doesn't appear to have happened.

Yes, the NABC has done it that way forever. That's why the NABC All-American team has less credibility than the D3hoops.com All-American team.

Of course, the NABC lost even more credibility in the eyes of a lot of D3 followers last season when it didn't give its Player of the Year award to Aston Francis. Instead it gave the award to Booker Coplin, who was (and is) a great player in his own right ... but the season that Francis had last season was one for the ages.

Wabash(IN) 6'8" F, Elijah Vander Velden, has committed to play basketball at UWSP.  Indiana certainly isn't a normal recruiting territory for the Pointers but his size should be a welcome addition.
His father Logan is from Valders, Wisconsin and played for Dick Bennett (two years with Tony Bennett) during the D1 glory years at UW-Green Bay.  Logan had a 15 game "career" in the NBA with the Clippers.  Semling started coaching at GB a couple years after the elder Vander Velden was there, but there aren't that many degrees of separation between the younger Vander Velden and Point.

Watched Seymour play on three different occasions this year...  Each of the three times I saw them in person, the best player on the floor for Seymour wasn't Murphy.  I do agree that Murphy can definitely shoot it, I'm just not sure he will get as many good looks as he did at the high school level.

Dorn was easily the best player for Seymour this year and probably a big WIAC target next season.  Murphy was underwhelming when I watched him as well but can definitely develop into a solid college player.

I know this is non basketball news Platteville names Dr. Kristina Navarro an Rutgers Associate AD as its new AD. Navarro is a UW LaX grad and has worked in the Athletic Departments at Madison and WW.

UM-Duluth and former Appleton Xavier G, Hunter Plamann, is transferring.  Coach Hockett at UWSP was his main recruiter for Duluth back when he was there.  He certainly would fit nicely with UWSP if he ends up there.  Plamann started every game for Duluth as a freshman and was a main rotation player as a sophomore.
