I don't know where this was the rest of the season, but UWSP throttles UWRF 98-65 last night.  All that really needs to be said is that Brady Wagner I believe ended up with 16 and Peter Timmermann scored 20.  UWRF was without Stensgard and Noah Hanson last night as well, I didn't hear a reason for that whether it is injury or covid related.

For the first time this year, the radio station had Coach Semling on after the game.  They also talked to Garrett Nelson.  The most noteworthy news coming from those interviews is that it looks more likely than not that Garrett will be back next season.  He has been playing much better these last couple weeks and some experience back for next year's young squad will be welcome.  Garrett is ahead on his schooling and if he gets accepted into his master's program at UWSP will be back to play, his words.

There was contract tracing with UWEC. If certain UWRF players weren't available yesterday, they also aren't available Friday or next week.

After listening to Nelson, it seems to me, pretty 50/50 either way.

Agree to disagree regarding Garrett Nelson and how he sounded on the radio.  From my point of view, he made it seem like his top option regarding next year is to get into the masters program and play another season.  I don't know what his major is and how hard it is to get into his masters program, but I would definitely put it over 50 percent that he's playing again next season.

In a complete reversal, RF over Point 77-72. Flory in foul trouble (2) and sat a lot in the first half. Ohde had 25 for RF.

Do not see where the negative comments earlier about McCray came from. He played well, hard and looked good the last 3 games I've watched. Nelson very good tonight w/about 19.

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

You haven't watched Point enough then because McCray is the most puzzling player I've ever watched.  For every good play he makes, he makes an equally terrible play.  Tonight was no exception, look at his turnovers.

McCray is a very good athlete, but he is not good with the basketball and he's a bad shooter.  He is a complimentary player that can come in and give some hustle minutes.  He shouldn't be a starter, but with Point down and having zero decent depth he has to have a bigger role.

Yeah, he's got some weaknesses, but his quick hands helping him steal the ball and his aggressive defense created havoc with the Falcons last night and in the previous game.

Missing out on every one of your top post recruits the past 4 years has definitely caught up to UWSP this season.  It's unfathomable for a program that prides itself on its defense to allow your field goal percentage defense at .520ish.  I have never seen anything close to that out of UWSP but that's what happens when you can't play defense in the lane.

Back to the drawing board Semling, another roster overhaul is needed and I doubt you're gonna be able to bring the talent needed this offseason to compete next year.

March/April are huge recruiting months as far as commitments go, so might as well do an update where things stand now as far as I've seen.

UWEC
Cooper Laufenberg 6'4" Lakeville North(MN)
Reece Sprout 6'7' Stoughton

UWLX
Mack Sebert 6'5" Fond Du Lac
Griffin Ginder 6'6" Arlington Heights(IL)
Torin Hannah 6'2" Mt Horeb

UWO
Cole Kalander 6'8" Holmen

UWP
Clayton Jenny 6'1" Edgerton
Matthew Waldera 6'5" Blair-Taylor
Charlie Bender 6'3" Lake Mills

UWST
Jacob Walczak 6'4" Chippewa Falls

UWRF, UWSP and UWW have yet to gain a commitment so far.  Platteville has a great start with 3 solid commitments.  They should be thrilled with their class so far.

River Falls over Whitewater 81-76. Alex Odeh had 22 points, all in the 2nd half for the falcons. Chislom played well for Whitewater with approximately 22 points.

Home teams win today. Sets up some really good semifinals on Wednesday. Oshkosh at La Crosse will be a great game. River Falls has learned who they are without two starters these past two a bit bitter and I think they can stay with Platteville.

1 vs 2 x 4 on Wednesday in the WIAC. Looking forward to four great games. All at 7  :'(.

6'8" Spring Lake Park(MN) F, Jack Leifker, has committed to play basketball at UWRF.

After watching Platteville split its games with La Crosse last week I wish that Will Fuhrmann would have followed in his father's footsteps and enrolled at Platteville. Wish him luck in the future except when they play Platteville.

Everybody in the WIAC wanted Fuhrmann last year, but yes...I was a surprised that Fuhrmann didn't end up following his dad to Platteville.  Dernbach is an elite recruiter,  I still wish he got the head job at UWSP after Semling was suspended.  Dernbach had that years' team playing much better than Semling ever did.

I can't complain too much Platteville got some great minutes from Logan Pearson and Ben Probst and I will be watching Lake Mills's Charlie Bender at the State Tournament this weekend. I'm starting to feel old I used to work with Charlie's dad when he was still in diapers.

Looking for a good game. If history holds true uwp will shoot a lot of ft's. They do most home games.
